Fall Prevention

Crossroads is committed to making your life and the lives of your loved ones as safe and abundant as possible. One of our most common enemies is falling. You may not know it, but every 20 minutes an older adult dies from a fall in the United States. In an effort to reduce falls in our community, we’ve just released a Fall Prevention brochure.

You should have received yours and we encourage you to share one with your family. Inside you will discover best practices for reducing your risk of falling.

You may also have noticed four brochures available in the Activities Room. You will find a handy survey on one of them that can help you determine your own fall risk. Pull one of your favorite caregivers aside, and have them take the survey with you.

Remember, if you do fall, push your call button, and wait for the caregivers to assist you. Your life at Crossroads is meant to be the best life it can be. Thanks for helping us help you live a longer, healthier, and safer life.

Update from Maranatha

India Celebration

Maranatha Volunteers depends on the generosity of donors. Some donate their time. Some donate their money. Some donate both. One of Maranatha’s board members has donated both for more than 50 years. Calvin Krueger, now 88, doesn’t volunteer on projects these days, but he still sits on the board and he and his family have financially supported Maranatha construction. In February, Cal and several members of his family visited some India school projects they have supported. They attended ribbon cuttings and visited with the young people who bene t so greatly from gifts like theirs. Cal says, “you’re never too old to make a difference in the lives of young people.” The schools they have built will serve tens of thousands of children with Christian education and training for years to come.
