Mary Jo = Go, Go, Go!
Mary St. Jean, better known among her peers as Mary Jo, is a resident at Crossroads Senior Living in Delta. She has lived there since 2013. Mary Jo lived most of her life on Long Island in New York state. She had many opportunities earlier in life to care and look after those around her. She would often care for neighborhood children, becoming the go-to babysitter for all the families on her block. The same home, which still stands, is where Mary Jo stayed through caring for her father and mother near the end of their lives. In 2013, Mary Jo’s brother had already made a home out west in Colorado, and after their mother’s passing brought her out to make a new home at Crossroads. Still, to this day nine years later, after leaving the quiet suburbs of New York, she has made her mark on the volunteer community. Mary Jo works tirelessly with an innumerable number of organizations within Delta County and beyond. Whether she is putting in work at the hospital, Heirlooms for hospice, HopeWest hospice, or the Delta area Chamber of Commerce as an ambassador, if you lived in or visited Delta, you may have undoubtedly run across Mary Jo. From Honorary membership with the Sheriff’s department, to training to work with the local Region 10 offices, there’s no slowing her down. Crossroads pays tribute to Mary Jo’s dedication and decades of service to the communities she lives in. Thank you, Mary Jo!
