Food for the Soul

As we grow our community, there is one constant. Most everyone enjoys a touch on the shoulder, a hug, or even just a smile. One person who touches us daily, who you know, or will get to know soon, is Beverly, our cook.

She likes to show how much she cares for you by making what you like. One of you knows what that means. Does a warm plate of eggs and grits sound delicious? It’s not on the menu necessarily. But one of you has given a wink to Bev, and she’s winked right back, plating something just for you, in this case, eggs and grits. Bev thrives on feeding our residents. Thank you, Bev, for the attention you give every day to our physical needs, and also our emotional needs.

In February, we reflect on our friendships and giving. It is a time where we do something special for those around us. Enjoy this poem by Joanna Fuchs and if you get the opportunity, share your warmth and love with someone near and dear.

On Valentine’s Day we think of those Who make our lives worthwhile, Those gracious, friendly people who We think of with a smile.

I am fortunate to know you, That’s why I want to say, To a rare and special person: Happy Valentine’s Day!
