Mary Jo = Go, Go, Go!
Mary St. Jean, better known among her peers as Mary Jo, has been a resident at Crossroads in Delta since 2013. Mary Jo lived most of her life on Long Island in New York state. She had many opportunities earlier in life to care and look after those around her. She would often care for neighborhood children, becoming the go-to babysitter for all the families on her block. The same home, which still stands, is where Mary Jo stayed through caring for her father and mother near the end of their lives. In 2013, Mary Jo’s brother had already made a home out west in Colorado, and after their mother’s passing brought her out to make a new home at Crossroads. Still, to this day nine years later, after leaving the quiet suburbs of New York, she has made her mark on the volunteer community. Mary Jo works tirelessly with an innumerable number of organizations within Delta County and beyond. Whether she is putting in work at the hospital, Heirlooms for hospice, HopeWest hospice, or our Delta area Chamber of Commerce as an ambassador, you have undoubtedly run across Mary Jo if you live in Delta.
