Update from Maranatha

Clean water is critical to survival. It is estimated that in sub-Saharan Africa there are more than 300 million people without access to safe drinking water. In response to the crisis, Maranatha began drilling water wells and providing pumps to communities in Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Cote d’Ivoire and Angola. Maranatha has contributed more than 1000 wells in these communities. When you turn on the tap today, take a minute to think how much different your life would be if you had to draw water from a well. And then think—what if there wasn’t a well? Or what if the well you could access was a 5 mile walk away?

In addition to the opening ceremonies of the winter Olympics in Beijing on February 4, and Super Bowl Sunday, February 13, we are looking forward to our Valentine’s Day events. Clyde and team are planning a Hot Dog bar complete with a choice of toppings. You’ll enjoy Chili, potato salad, Cole slaw, macaroni salad and Valentine cookies. Add to that some good drink to toast and the topper: a chocolate fountain with dipped marshmallows and strawberries. Now that will be an occasion you can love!

Luncheons Everywhere

In the good old days, no one would think twice about people getting together for a social event or eating a grand meal together. Crossroads at Delta looked back a little bit in January and looked forward at the same time. All the men in the Assisted Living community came together for the first men’s luncheon since 2020—you know, the good old days. There was a lot of laughing and socializing—an art that hasn’t been lost even during the COVID pandemic. The ladies, not to be outdone, had a luncheon of their own. They too enjoyed their time together but added the additional fine touch of wearing their red hats with an eye toward April and the official Red Hat Day.
