13,000 people in poverty in NE Denver
SOLUTION Through our one-year career and community development program, we prepare and equip unemployed and underemployed neighbors for meaningful careers with sustainable living wages, and build relationships across lines of race, class, and political views, reweaving the fabric of a frayed society.
2017 Impact “Before Uprise, I was in a halfway house trying to do life by myself. Since joining the program, I have learned how to trust others again and the importance of persistence and ambition. In Training Camp, I was taught communication skills and expanded my insight on the internal aspects of emotional, intellectual, and financial poverty. I sincerely believe when someone has a family like Uprise, they can overcome the barriers in front of them. Thank you, Uprise, for not judging me, for your strength, for your structure, and for the program.
