A SUCCESSFUL PROJECT BEGINS WITH THE RIGHT TEAM. We’re ready to start your project.

Our support team drives project success and operational excellence.
In loving memory of our founder, Ivan “Red Iron” Crossland, Sr.

We had a unique start, which we think explains a lot about us.
Ask any one of our 2000+ employees what our founder, Ivan Crossland, Sr., stood for—every single one would say family, honesty , and hard work. Those values are engrained in everything we do.
Our journey began in 1977 with our founder, Ivan Crossland, Sr., affectionately known as ‘Red Iron,’ who started Crossland Construction in the family garage. His unwavering optimism, integrity, and work ethic became the foundation of our success and continue to inspire us today.
Now, still family-owned and operated, we’ve grown to four companies, ten offices, and over 2,000+ employees. This year, Crossland was ranked the 50th largest general contractor in the U.S. by ENR and the 8th largest in North Texas by DBJ. We remain committed to Ivan Sr.’s belief that dreaming big, staying humble, and working hard leads to great achievements.

We build smarter with preengineered metal buildings because we buy a lot of metal—plain and simple. Our volume gives us direct access to significant cost savings that we pass on to you. When you work with us, you get the benefit of our national buying power, not just our hands-on experience. That means more budget clarity, faster timelines, and a high-quality finish. Our prefabrication capabilities let us keep your project moving year-round, reduce risk, and keep your schedule on track. We’re real builders—boots on the ground, focused on your priorities, and committed to delivering results that align with your goals.

But we rank Top in the Nation!
To be on any of the ENR (Engineering News Record) lists is an honor - they are well-known and respected across our industry. However, we know that numbers and rankings, well, are just numbers and rankings. It’s the people behind the scenes that matter.

“Crossland has been sincere in their efforts to give us a good value, they’ve been a great partner, they’ve been a good piece of our community, I think they bought into who we are and I think they understand our vision. They are quality people”
Mr. Keith Murphy
Superintendent Melissa ISD

“This is not a word you find in the dictionary but it’s a word I that I use for people like Crossland, they are SOLUTIONERS, from the top all the way down here they find solutions, they work through things, they create things that make it better”
Duke Sparks, Director of Community Partnerships & Athletic Operations
Melissa ISD
“This has to be one of the most fabulous builds that Crossland Construction has ever completed. And we are so tickled to death and happy to have our name on it but also to have Crossland’s fingerprints all over this facility”
Kenny Deal Executive Director of Operations
Melissa ISD

“Our project was successfully completed on time and within budget. Additionally, I would like to commend Crossland on their exceptional customer service and support. Their team responded very quickly to the few issues that arose after we moved into the new building and showed they care about providing a quality product that they stand behind.”
Stacy Alton Superintendent Leadership Prep School

“They brought tremendous value during preconstruction, offering design input, cost-saving suggestions, and real-time market feedback that helped us stay on budget without sacrificing quality. Throughout construction, they maintained open communication, coordinated well with campus operations, and held their subcontractors to a high standard of performance and professionalism.”
Daniel Melton Superintendent Executive Director of Facilities
Frisco, TX

In 2017, Crossland built a 71,000 SF, two-story educational facility for Leadership Prep School. The project combines a pre-engineered metal building with a conventional structural steel structure to create a functional and durable space for students and staff. The building features a full gymnasium, 37 classrooms, and six collaboration or flex rooms designed to support a variety of learning and teaching activities. The exterior is finished with stucco and stone, providing both visual appeal and long-term resilience. Interior finishes include polished concrete floors,
carpeted classroom areas, and painted walls, balancing durability with comfort and aesthetics.
In 2023, Crossland was again selected by LPS to construct the district’s new elementary school—a 55,000 SF, twostory K-5 facility built entirely from the ground up. Despite the aggressive timeline, the project was completed in just under a year, demonstrating the team’s commitment to efficiency, communication, and delivering high-quality educational environments.

Establishing a solid partnership from day one between the school board, the school, and your construction manager is a must. Together, we will work toward the common goal of protecting the students, educators, and support staff.
Potential Health and Safety Hazards in school renovations and additions may include:
Dust & debris
Asbestos & lead
Chemical exposures (paints, glues, varnishes, floor strippers, urethanes, and roofing materials)
Diesel exhaust, carbon monoxide
Noise
Falling equipment and materials
Struck-by hazards (vehicles, construction equipment, etc.)
Disruption of fire suppression systems, alarms, or obstructed emergency exits
We begin the safety conversation during the planning phase. We can schedule specific work activities around the school year and even school day through pre-planning to avoid unnecessary hazards to the students and staff. We always have a site-specific construction safety plan in place that addresses any and all hazards we identify during planning.

Safety is the number one concern on active school campuses. Crossland has three main areas of focus to keep school project sites safe for students, staff, and visitors.

Our field experience, combined with our long history of design-bid-build work, keeps us competitive and guarantees the best building for your construction dollar. Our trade-specific experience also allows for accurate, efficient, and dependable schedules. If a subcontractor falls behind or falls through, we can supplement with our crews, always keeping your schedule on track
There are a lot of moving parts on a construction site. Having a builder who knows how to put the work in place goes a long way. We will make sure that everyone who steps foot on your project meets our quality and safety standards. Easily put, we know how to do it ourselves, and we know how to do it right - we will settle for nothing less.
We work with design firms upfront to help identify and avoid potential obstacles before construction even begins. However, undoubtedly there will be hurdles.
