Rober t Motherw ell “Ar t is one way of ex ploring the world. In teaching, more experienced people lead the less experienced to new experien ces, to an exploration of the world of ar t -- its past, its present, and above all its future possibilities. Naturally, to explore means that one is adventurous -- that one is capable of experimenting, of intellectual inde pendence, and in ar t one must also have a war m hear t. All these things tog ether make up the human imagination, and it is imagination that transfor ms neutral facts and materials into something with per so n al m ean i n g .”
