REGEL PROTECT THE BARRIER COATING With the growth of technology development and improving people’s life, higher quality foods are further required. For the situation, barrier materials are widely used for prolonging food shelf-life.

Usual barrier materials include OPA, PET, PE-EVOH-PE, metalized film, ALU, film with SiOx-AIOx, etc.

Cromogenia Units developed the alternative to create the barrier even with common material as PP and PE.

Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR) is measured in cc/m2/day accordingly ASTM F1927-14:

Depends of film thickness, RH and temperature but as comparative level the next figures can be accepted at 23ºC and 50% h.r. Generally speaking OTR below 90-100 can be consider barrier and below 20 as high oxygen barrier. The above case in a Pet12/PE50.

The performance is similar to EVOH while REGEL PROTECT is really definitely recyclable SOLUTION even in line with new overcoming legislation on plastics.
