Cromogenia Units is a member of the UNITS GROUP of companies founded in 1942 dedicated to the development and manufacturing of a variety of specialty chemicals for a wide range of industries worldwide.

Cromogenia Units es una empresa del Grupo Units fundada en 1942 que desarrolla y fabrica una amplia variedad de especialidades químicas para un amplio abanico de industrias de todo el mundo.

With more than 75 years of experience, our company has achieved global presence supplying customers across all continents from our 10 production plants located in different countries around the world: Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Turkey, Brazil and China. We also have commercial subsidiaries in Portugal, Italy, Turkey, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Germany, Mexico, the US and China.

En estos más de 75 años de experiencia, nuestra empresa ha conseguido un alcance internacional llegando a clientes de todos los continentes y produciendo en 10 plantas ubicadas en distintos países alrededor del planeta: España, Argentina, México, Turquía, Brasil y China. Cromogenia Units, S.A. was set-up in

1942 Barcelona by several Catalan families, today 3rd generation on the board.

1951 First Production Plant in Zona Franca – Surfactants

Second Production Plant: Polyurethanes / Acrylics.

Set-up Units Mexico S.A. 100 % wholly owned subsidiary

1996 Acquisition of majority of shares of Auxicolor S.A.(Terrassa) – Production of Textile Auxiliaries.

Set-up of Units Sudamericana S.A. (Argentina, Chile & Brazil)

Acquisition of Arteixo Química S.L. (former ROIBUSA S.A.).

Cromogenia Units está comprometida con el desarrollo de productos sostenibles y ecológicos en todas las etapas del proceso de curtidos, desde Ribera hasta Acabado.

SUSTAINABLE PROCESS ECO UNHAIRING is a process with zero content in sodium sulfide. This process generates waste waters with lower sulfide content, lower BOD and COD, and lower sludge production. For the PICKLING stage, Cromogenia Units offers a process that allows reducing salt content and totally removes sulfuric acid. This process also provides greater chromium oxide fixation onto the hide and lower collagen degradation.

PROCESO SOSTENIBLE PELAMBRE ECO es un proceso de pelambre con cero sulfuro de sodio. Este proceso genera aguas residuales con menor contenido de sulfuro, menor DBO y DQO, y menor cantidad de lodo.

SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS Cromogenia Units developed a new range of products formed by sustainable retanning and fatliquoring products, ST range. The distinctive characteristics of these new products include high biodegradability, they originate from renewable or residual raw materials, high efficacy (high fixation and hence reduced COD) and without restricted substances.

Las características diferenciales de estos nuevos productos incluyen una mayor biodegradabilidad, provienen de materias primas renovables o residuales, son muy eficaces (buena fijación y, por lo tanto, DQO reducida) y no contienen sustancias restringidas.

Construction chemicals are used in concrete technology to modify rheological properties such improving concrete workability, strength, pumping performance or water reduction. We also manufacture in our facilities water-based polyurethane dispersions, acrylic emulsions and polyurethane softeners for application on floors, roofs and other civil engineering applications. Cromogenia Units está especializada en adhesivos basados en poliuretanos, tanto libres de disolventes como base solvente y también base acuosa para la industria de transformación y convertidores, bajo la marca FORZAL. Cubrimos todas las necesidades de la industria para diferentes tipos de sustrato y aplicaciones a través de una línea completa de adhesivos y endurecedores adaptables a las necesidades requeridas por cada usuario, así como una excelente red de ventas y servicio técnico capaz de actuar en la industria de transformación a escala global.

REGEL PROTECT With the growth of technology development and improving people’s life, higher quality foods are further required. For the situation, barrier materials are widely used for extending food shelf-life. Usual barrier materials include OPA, PET, PE-EVOH-PE, metallic film, ALU, film with SiOx-AIOx, etc. Cromogenia Units developed the alternative to create the barrier even with common materials as PP and PE. Allow to save more than 40% per sqm compared to classical barrier technologies providing the right performance applying 4 to 8 g/sqm wet deposit. The most effective solution.

Con el crecimiento del desarrollo tecnológico y la mejora en la calidad de vida, cada vez hay más demanda de alimentos de mejor calidad y es por esto que es necesario un máximo nivel de conservación por parte de los materiales barrera, con tal de prolongar la vida útil de dichos alimentos. Los materiales barrera más comunes incluyen OPA, PET, PE-EVOH-PE, film metalizado, ALU, film con SiOx-AlOx, etc. Cromogenia Units ha desarrollado la alternativa para crear barrera incluso con materiales comunes como PP y PE. Permiten ahorrar más del 40% comparado con las tecnologías barrera clásicas aplicando de 4 a 9 gramos por metro cuadrado del depósito húmedo. La solución más eficaz.

Our plant at Arteixo – La Coruña is devoted to the production and sale of polyamine- and polyDADMAC-based organic coagulants, which are essential in drinking water treatment, cosmetics, paper, mining, and industrial wastewater treatment processes. Our production is completed with the manufacture and sale of the DADMAC monomer, a key molecule to obtain environmentally friendly polymers. Nuestra producción incluye la gama completa de polielectrolitos líquidos desarrollado en la planta de Tarragona. Productos de alta concentración y rápida disolución que aportan un grado extra de competitividad en mercados de gran demanda como el petróleo o la minería. En la planta de Arteixo, en A Coruña nos especializamos en la producción y venta de coagulantes orgánicos base poliamina y polidadmac, fundamentales para procesos de tratamiento de aguas potables, cosmética, papel, minería y depuración de aguas industriales.
