Monoclonal Antibody – hEMILIN2 CRO Aviano researchers have developed a monoclonal antibody to an extracellular matrix (ECM) glycoprotein named EMILIN2 (Elastin Microfibril Interface Located proteIN), which has been shown to be expressed in smooth muscle and other mesenchymal tissues. This antibody has been successfully used in detection ELISA, immunoblot and facs assays. EMILIN2 is involved in regulation of the extrinsec apoptotic pathway (Mongiat et al, 2007) and is a marker of hESC-Derived cardiomyocytes (Van Hoof et al., 2010). In a MCB 2007 work it was discovered that EMILIN2 has a direct and functional interaction with death receptors DR4 and DR5, inducing apoptosis in a number of tumor cells. In a J. PROT. RES. 2010 study this Ab was used to select cardiomyocytes from live cell population by FACS.
Antibody Overview 1. Clone name: mo.E2-828B3B3 2. Specificity: murine EMILIN2 3. Species/Isotype: Rat IgG (isotype to be determined) 4. This antibody can be used for the following applications and corresponding conditions: _X_ ELISA: capture ____ detection __x__ --X-- immunohistochemistry on frozen tissues _X_ Western Blot X_ FACS 5. What is the best positive tissue/cell line to use in testing this antibody? In vivo: Human fetal cardiomyocytes, Bone Marrow; in vitro: BMS2 cell line. 6.
