Theodora Hollis-Pitts MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A northeast Memphis woman is in trouble with policeÊafter they say she tried to pull a fast one on a friend.

Police say Theodora Hollis-Pitts set up Lawrence Burton in a robbery and then lied about it.

Burton and Hollis-Pitts were both reportedly robbedÊin an apartment complex on Edgewater in May. Burton’s backpack was stolen, he was pistol whipped and led around a building where was told to run before robbers started shooting.

Burton ran to a Murphy Express gas station to call police. That’s when Hollis-Pitts called telling him she was kidnappedÊand needed his debit card pin to appease the robbers.

She claimed the robbers seemed pleased and she was able to get awayÊby dropping them off at a car wash.

Apparently Hollis-Pitts thought she’d trickedÊBurton, but little did she know he’d given her the wrong code to the card. When Hollis-Pitts and two men tried to use the card at an S-Mart station, theyÊwere caught on camera together.

The woman even tossed her friend’s bag after taking anything of value out.

On Monday Hollis-Pitts finally told police she wasn’t a victim with Burton. In fact, she helped set the whole thing up, admitting she lied to police initially and even drove the vehicle.

Hollis-Pitts is charged with aggravated robbery and filingÊa false report, along with tampering and fabricating evidence.

Man accused of posting sex video on Facebook Live; woman says she didn’t know June 3, 2019ÊÊWBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Staff JACKSON, Tenn. — ÊA man accused of putting a sex tape on Facebook faces a judge.

Equaris Clark(right) is accused of showing a video of himself engaged in sexual activity with a woman on Facebook Live in November 2018.

Court documents say the woman didn’t know she was being recorded and didn’t consent to the video being posted on social media.

Clark is charged with unlawfully photographing in violation of privacy.

Clark remains in custody in lieu of $5,000 bond.

Alaskan woman accused of ordering rape of man who owed her drug money

By Joshua Rhett Miller | New York Post An Alaska woman ordered a man to rape another man who owed her money – a “contract” sexual assault to recoup money from a drug debt, authorities said.

Julia Haworth, 30, of St. Michael, told an acquaintance, Austin Matthias, to carry out the April 2017 sexual assault in exchange for “a bottle,” according to court documents filed by the Nome District Attorney’s Office obtained by the Anchorage Daily News.

“I’ve never seen or heard of a case like this before,” Nome Assistant District Attorney Tom Jamgochian told the newspaper. “It is unique.”

A witness told an Alaska state trooper that he watched the sexual assault in the victim’s residence after Haworth “let” Matthias and the man get drunk, court documents show. The witness said Haworth then told Matthias: “Austin, I’m going to need you to rape [the man].”

The victim owed Haworth $15,000, the witness told the trooper. Matthias – also of St. Michael, a village of 400 people where the sale and import of alcohol is banned – then replied to her request “with a ‘sure,’” according to court documents.

Jackson man to serve 6 years for distributing heroin, fentanyl mixture that caused overdoses May 31, 2019ÊÊWBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Staff JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson man has been sentenced to serve 6 years in federal prison for distributing between 100 and 400 grams of a heroin and fentanyl mixture to residents in Madison and Gibson counties, according to the U.S. Attorney General’s Office.

Stephen Thompson, 67, admitted in 2018 to distributing at least 100 grams of a substance that contained heroin, according to a news release.

The mixture caused at least two users to overdose, according to the release. Those users recovered from the overdoses.

U.S. Attorney D. Michael Dunavant announced the sentence Friday.

A federal grand jury returned an eight-count indictment on April 16, 2018, against Thompson for possessing and distributing a heroin and fentanyl mixture, the release says.

The mixture was reportedly being distributed to buyers from the Madison County and Gibson County areas.

On March 1, 2019, Thompson was sentenced to federal prison for 80 months followed by 48 months of supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

By Travis Fedschun, | Fox News of men to be raped in exchange for cash, A mother in Georgia pleaded guilty to allowing several including that of Richard “Pop” Office men, including a 78-year-old, rape her two young (right). (FULTON COUNTY, GA JAIL) daughters in exchange for cash, officials said Friday.

The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release that Morgan Summerlin, 25, pleaded guilty on April 26 to cruelty to children, trafficking a person for sexual servitude and enticing a child for indecent purposes, with sentencing set for June 4.

“It is difficult to imagine facts that are more horrific than those found in this case,” District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. said in a statement. “I am hoping these two little girls can somehow survive this abuse and grow into healthy adults who can lead a productive and fulfilling life.”

WARNING: GRAPHIC DETAILS BELOW Officials said the two young victims told adults in April 2017 their mother would bring them to men’s homes to be molested and raped for money. In one incident, the two girls said their mother brought them to the home of 78-year-old Richard Office, who was referred to as “Pop.” When the men would give the girls money, authorities said Morgan Summerlin would then take the cash for herself. (Facebook) “Pop” would give their mother drugs, and in one incident the 78-year-old raped the younger sister while the other rubbed his feet, all while Summerlin sat in his living room, according to officials.

“Afterward, Office gave the girls one-hundred dollars, and the girls’ mother immediately took the money from them,” the DA’s office said. Summerlin freqeuntly posted about her children on Facebook.

In another incident, Summerlin brought the girls to the home of Alfredo Trejo where a similar assault took place, officials said.

Both Trejo and Office were convicted in recent months of numerous charges, including rape, child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and sexual battery.Ê Office was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 146 years to run concurrently while Trejo was sentenced to 25 years in prison, followed by life on probation.

In addition to the men involved in the gruesome crime, officials said that the children’s grandmother, Teresa Davidson, pleaded guilty to second-degree cruelty to children for failing to protect the sisters after they told her they were being sexually abused. www.foxnews.com

The month has been overflowing wit guest Sunday school teachers and Friday Night Evangelists. The Word during Sunday Morning Worship Services was delivered by powerful Women of God such as Prophetess Sharon Seay Whitelaw, Unity temple COGIC, Jackson, TN., Rev. Humboldt Honors McNeal, Deloach Humboldt City Schools and Superintendet Versie Hamlett recently honored a city alderman and school employee for their contributions to the system. Mr. Leon McNeal was awarded the Viking Pride award at the annual Teacher and Community Recognition Breakfast on May 30th. A special thanks to Mr. McNeal for his work in coordinating events to help our students prepare for the future.

Bishop Williamson’s remarks highlighted “The Power of the CME Connection !” In 1954, the College of Bishops of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, under the leadership of Bishop J. Arthur Hamlett, led and built a new hospital for AfricanAmericans in Memphis, TN. The hospital continued to provide outstanding healthcare services throughout the years under the leadership of Rev. Dr. William E. George.

Jackson City Mayors Election: THE VOTERS CHOICE City of Jackson voters have the opportunity to vote early in the Jackson Mayor’s race run off election between Scott Conger and Dr Jerry Woods.Ê Early voting started May 29 and will run through June 13. The hours are 9:00 am until 4:00 pm each weekday and 9:00 am until noon on Saturdays at the Madison County Agricultural Complez auditorium located at 311 North Parkway.

Conger and Woods were the two candidates who received the most votes in the Mayors race May 7 Jackson city election.

Voters must be a resident of the City of Jackson to vote in this election.Ê Residents may vote in the runoff even if they did not vote in the May 7 election.

Election Day for the runoff is June 18, voters will have designated voting locations on Election Day and no voting will take place that day at the early voting location.

Leadership Jackson Accepting Nominations for 2019 Class June 3, 2019 Ê– The Jackson Chamber is accepting nominations for Leadership Jackson, its adult leadership program. Leadership Jackson gives business professionals the opportunity to understand the community and its opportunities and challenges. During the three-month program, class members visit area landmarks, meet with area leaders and participate in weekly sessions about topics impacting Jackson-Madison County, including education, health care, and government.

Starting June 1, applicants can fill out a nomination form online at leadershipjackson.com. Someone in leadership in their company or organization should nominate them. They can nominate themselves if they are the primary decision maker. Due to class size, members must limit their nominations to one per chamber member.

Applicants must be a Jackson Chamber member to apply.

The 2019 class will be led by and Leadership Jackson Chair Laura Saliba, Apria Healthcare and Vice Chair Russ McKelvey, Mack Pest Control. The curriculum covers various topics during each weekly session and incorporates a leadership skill-building component. Washington said there are three schools still on the construction agenda: a K-8 in the northwest part of the county, renovation and revitalization of Jackson Central Merry High School and movement of Madison Academic High School to the University of Memphis Lambuth campus.

School board member Janice Hampton (District 6 Pos. 1) said she feels confident in Washington’s ability.

“He has been actively engaged on a day-to-day basis as it relates to everything the superintendent does,” Hampton said. “He has been working side-by-side with Dr. Jones, therefore, I felt like during this time, he had a more firsthand knowledge.”
