April will mark three years since the death of 2-year-old Rowdy Maness. Rowdy’s father, Jeff Maness, says he finally has closure. Rowdy Maness died April 21, 2016. His death was initially attributed to an aneurysm caused by an accidental fall. An autopsy report later COFFMAN determined his death was a homicide.

Madison County Sheriff John Mehr confirmed that on Monday the Madison County grand jury indicted KEVIN TYLER GAGE on charges of firstdegree murder and aggravated child abuse and neglect.

FREDDIE EARL BOOTH October 04, 1948 - January 27, 2019 ÊÊÊ Mr. Freddie Earl Booth was born to the late Mr. Herbert and Luvenia Booth on October 4, 1948. He was a proud graduate of Stigall High School Class of 1968. ÊÊÊ HeÊwas married to Patricia Ann House Booth for 49 years and this union resulted in five children: three daughters, Melissa, Mary (Anthony), and Shell (Jeff) and two sons, David (Karen) and Timothy. He was a member of Cedar Hill Full Gospel Church where he remained until his death. ÊÊÊÊ Besides his children, he leaves to cherish his memory one brother, Eddie Booth (Linda) of Flint, Michigan; in-laws, Florene Shepherd, Marthan Flake (Flaky) Florence Coleman (Willie) Irma House, James Howse (Beverly), Latosca Walker (David), Alberta House, and Elizabeth Booth. He leavesÊtwenty-threeÊgrandchildren, five greatgrandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. ÊÊÊÊ He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers James Booth, and Teddy Booth and one sister, Betty Ferguson. JACKSON, Tenn. —Ê A man accused of shooting two people outside Denny’s last month appears in court.

Dontarios Brown is charged with multiple counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to his attorney.

The charges come after an incident on December 8 when police say there was a fight outside the Denny’s restaurant on Christmasville Road.

Two people were shot during that incident, according to police.

Brown is being held on a $100,000 bond.

On January 9th, officers with the Jackson Police Department took a theft report at 2644 N. Highland Avenue, C&C Liquors.Ê The victim in this theft advised an unknown person had taken his wallet and used his debit card after he mistakenly left it on the counter at C&C Liquors.

Surveillance video from the Ê The suspect also wore a black toboggan, gray or khaki shorts and tennis shoes.Ê The suspect possibly was driving a gray four door vehicle.

The CrimeSEEN Self-described ‘most hated hoe’ in Los Angeles sentenced to 15 years in prison LOS ANGELES – A South Los Angeles woman who called herself “the most hated hoe in L.A.” and admitted to coercing young women, including minors, into sex trafficking through violence and intimidation received a sentence of 15 years in federal prison Thursday, authorities said.

Melanie Denae Williams received the mandatory minimum sentence after pleading guilty in November to a single count ofÊsex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, according the the U.S. Attorney’s Office. She will also be required to pay restitution to her victims.

Williams, who uses the Instagram handle @Prettyhoeforever, would post pictures of herself and even the young girls she was prostituting. Federal prosecutors claim that Williams would beat the girls and even made one tattoo her name across her face in a series of incidents detailing her abuse and control over her young victims.

ARREST MADE AS PART OF MULTI-AGENCY INVESTIGATION INTO MIDDLE TENNESSEE DRUG OVERDOSES NASHVILLE – A joint operation involving Special Agents with the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Tactical Diversion Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Murfreesboro Police Department, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, and the Metro Nashville Police Department has resulted in the arrest of an Old Hickory man on drug-related charges involving heroin and fentanyl.

Last year, authorities began investigating a series of overdoses that took place across the Middle District of Tennessee involving fentanyllaced heroin. During the course of the months-long investigation, Agents and officers conducted undercover operations and pursued leads on the distribution of fentanyl-laced heroin. Authorities developed information that identified one of the distributors of the potentially deadly drug combination as Reginald T. Womack -PICTURED LEFT-(DOB 7/11/86).

On Friday afternoon, Womack was arrested and charged with one count of Manufacturing/Delivery/Sale/Possession of Schedule I. He was booked into the Rutherford County Jail on a $175,000 bond. At this time, the investigation remains active and ongoing.

Woman throws stolen items at police officer as she runs away

Authorities said Nicole Bell was in on the setup, giving the suspects the key needed to get into the hotel room. It’s unclear if she was the woman the victim had been speaking with online. All three suspects were eventually taken into custody and charged.

LATARA WILSON MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman was arrested Sunday after she threw stolen items at an officer and escaped in an awaiting vehicle, Memphis Police said.

According to the report, an officer was entering Walgreens in the 4100 block of Elvis Presley Sunday morning when Latara Wilson, 26, ran past him with stolen items.

Wilson then threw the items at the officer during a foot pursuit before getting in the backseat of a dark blue 2016 Chrysler.

Police identified the driver of the vehicle as Keyunna Otis. As the vehicle was driving off, a man identified as Tracy Woodall also got in the backseat.

Police say surveillance footage shows Woodall also shoplifting in Walgreens. He left the store right after the officer began pursuing Wilson.

The suspects were caught after officers saw the vehicle in the 3900 block of Barton. Woodall and Otis were immediately taken into custody.

MAN ACCUSED OF IMPREGNATING, ATTACKING TEEN ARRESTED AGAIN AFTER DATING APP SETÊUP FEBRUARY 4, 2019, BYÊWREG STAFF

MEMPHIS, Tenn. —Ê A man accused of impregnating and attacking a 15-year-old girl just two months ago was arrested again over the weekend after a vicious attack on a man in Whitehaven.

The victim in the latest case told police he had been chatting with a woman on a dating app called Meet Me when she asked to meet him at the Travel Lodge in the 1400 block of East Brooks. As he was sitting in the room, two men police identified as Marquett Morton and Decarlos Jones entered, armed with a revolver-style BB gun, and demanded the man hand over his belongings.

The man said he ran from the hotel room with the other two men in hot pursuit. They eventually caught up with him and Jones reportedly struck him repeatedly in the head. Again, he demanded everything the victim had.

Somehow the man was able to get away and call police.

19TH-ANNUAL UT MARTIN CIVIL RIGHTS CONFERENCE TO BE HELD FEB. 17-23 MARTIN, Tenn. –ÊThe University of Tennessee at Martin’s 19th-annual Civil Rights Conference will address the theme “Toward a Radical Revolution of Values: A New Poor People’s Campaign” with events Feb. 12 and the week of Feb. 17-23 on the UT Martin main campus.

The Rev. Dr. William Barber II, pastor of Greenleaf Christian Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina, will give the keynote address at 7 p.m., Feb. 21, in the Boling University Center’s Watkins Auditorium.

Barber is president of the North Carolina conference of the NAACP and a political activist. He works to confront systemic racism, poverty, environmental devastation, war economy and the moral narrative of religious nationalism in America today. Barber founded “Moral Monday” rallies in Raleigh, North Carolina, to protest laws that suppress voting rights, health care, living wages, immigrants’ rights, public education and LGBTQ rights. Barber is also a distinguished professor and published author.

All events are free to the public and located in Watkins Auditorium unless otherwise noted.

The Feb. 12 panel discussion on “The Black Experience in the Classroom” will discuss how race affects African American students at a predominantly Rev. Dr. William Barber II, president of the white institution. Four UT Martin students, one from North Carolina conference of the NAACP, each classification (freshman, sophomore, etc.), will was also the keynote speaker during the serve as panelists.

Governor Bill Lee issued an executive order Friday to halt new regulations for the next 90 days across all state executive branch departments.

“As part of our efforts to limit the size of state government, we are taking a close look at the regulations we are imposing on citizens and businesses in Tennessee,” said Lee. “Our goal is to make Tennessee the most job-friendly state in the country and we are working to promote job creation and a commonsense regulatory approach.”

The order outlines a 90-day freeze in which no executive branch department can file a new rule or regulation with the secretary of state.

During the freeze, the executive branch will develop the framework to better assess the costs and benefits of imposing new regulations.

“I’ve encouraged each department to think about their respective roles in making our state the best place to live, work and play,” said Lee. “A more thoughtful approach to regulation is a key step in getting government out of the way and putting the citizens of Tennessee first.”

Adults arrested at N. Parkway Middle School CONT’D FROM PAGE 1 Arlene Pugh spoke Tuesday with WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News.

“Right now I’m going through so many different emotions,” Pugh said. “I’m angry as hell, first and foremost, because I did nothing wrong.”

Pugh says she was at the school talking to the principal about a video of her daughter fighting in a bathroom. She says she was sprayed with pepper spray twice and shocked seven times with an electrical stun gun, but says she didn’t do anything wrong.

“I felt like I was playing my part as a parent and trying to help the school with my child, but I didn’t get the same in return,” Pugh said.

Pugh posted a $2,000 bond and her daughter posted a $500 bond.

The Jackson-Madison County School System says the incident started during a conference with Pugh. They say no students were involved at any point.

School officials said they cannot discuss further details of what led to Pugh and Lewis being arrested.

“Alas “Fences” was delayed an hour and we just HAD to leave at the intermission feeling very disappointed that we could not stay.

First time we ever had to do that. (And NO , we did not leave to watch the Super Bowl). The pity was that we were unable to congratulate Jean-Remy Monnay for terrific direction, Emmett Ferris for his wonderfully sensitive command of the stage as Troy and Timmy Martin, (pictured below) in only his second ever time on stage, superb in the role of Gabriel. Speaking only a couple of explosive words now and then Martin achieved in gestures and tiny moves what mature actors take time to accomplish....he gently captivated his audience without overdoing it.”
