KEON STEWART CHARGED 505 S. Bells St., Alamo, TN

Keon Stewart Jackson police charged Keon Stewart with SecondDegree Murder in the homicide investigation of Amanda Northern.

Stewart was arraigned Gavontai McDonald Oct. 25 in Jackson City Court. He remains in custody at the Madison County Jail in lieu of $10,000,000 bond.

On Oct. 16 around 8 p.m., Officers responded to 507 Parkwood Trace Apartments in reference to a welfare concern. Police executed a search warrant at the apartment and found Amanda Northern, 24, deceased from an apparent homicide. Her CONNELL REDDICK two children, ages three and two, were missing.

Call for Investigators determined that the children were with Appointments: their father, Keon Stewart, 731.345.0637 23, of Brownsville. The Tennessee Bureau Investigation broadcasted OPEN an Endangered Child alert.

TUESDAY With the assistance of the SUNDAY Chattanooga Police Department, Stewart and the children were safely found in Chattanooga.

Stewart was arrested on outstanding, unrelated warrants and transported back to Jackson.

Man charged with killing girlfriend’s 3-year-old Oct 29, 2018 - www.wreg.com DESOTO CO., Miss. - A DeSoto County man was arrested for capital murder in connection with the death of a 3-year-old child.

Christopher Waldrop (right), 30, has been charged with capital murder after the death of Baylee Allen, according to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department.

Allen was murdered in the 5500 block of Kaitlynn Drive in Walls, investigators said.

Officials said Allen was unresponsive when emergency responders arrived at the scene on Oct. 19.

The child died from “shaken baby syndrome,” according to deputies. Waldrop was the boyfriend of Allen’s mother.

Police said Allen’s death was ruled a homicide by the Mississippi Medical Examiner’s Office.

Waldrop is being held in the DeSoto County Adult Detention Facility without bond.

Third man accused of gunning down grandmother: ‘SOMEBODY HAD TO GETÊIT’ OCTOBER 30, 2018, -www.wreg.com Marlo Bemley MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Another man was arrested on Monday in connection to the death of a grandmother who was gunned down in front of her nine-year-old grandson.

According to the arrest report, Beverly Jacks was sitting in the driver’s seat of a Saturn SL2 in the 1300 block of Wabash when another car pulled up and someone inside opened fire. Jacks was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead on the scene by first responders.

The juvenile was not injured.

A witness was able to identify two of the suspects as Cortez Graham and Alfonzo Kennedy.

Another witness told police Marlo Bemley told them “I didn’t shoot Big Hurt. I shot Mane.” After he was told the person inside the car was Mane’s mother, Bemley reportedly stated that “somebody had to get it.”

Trenton shooting suspect appears in court on seconddegree murder charge October 29, 2018ÊÊCorallys Ortiz - wbbjtv.com TRENTON, Tenn. — A Trenton man is charged with second-degree murder in a fatal shooting over the weekend.

Brad Johnson, 36, appeared in court Monday afternoon, accused of fatally shooting a 43-year-old Trenton man.

“You’re here for arraignment. It looks like you have two charges,” Gibson County General Sessions Court Judge Jeff Mueller said. “You have a second-degree murder charge and an unlawful possession of a firearm charge.”

The incident took place Friday evening when Trenton police say a victim identified as Billy Smith was found lying on the street, between Second and Lexington Street.

“Officers arrived, they found the victim Billy Smith laying on the road of Lexington Street with a gunshot wound to the chest,” Judge Mueller said.

Trenton police say Smith was taken to Humboldt Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. They say they’re still investigating a potential motive for the shooting.

Attorneys say Johnson is considered a flight risk.

He will be held at the Gibson County Correctional Complex in lieu of $300,000 bond.

Johnson is scheduled to return to court Dec. 14.

CHILD BURNED ALIVE SHAW, Miss.ÊA Mississippi toddler was still alive when her grandmother allegedly placed her in a hot oven after stabbing her, an autopsy has found.

The death of 20-month-old Royalty Marie Floyd, who was found stabbed and burned inside an oven of a Mississippi Delta home, led to a murder charge against the child’s grandmother, authorities said.

Bolivar County Sheriff Kelvin Williams Sr. said 48-year-old Carolyn Jones was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Floyd in the town of Shaw.

“I’ve been doing law enforcement for 25 or 26 years now,” Williams told The Associated Press. “This is one of the most horrible things I’ve seen in doing law enforcement. The hardest part ... is to see a child victim.”

He said authorities had no immediate answers in the death of the woman’s granddaughter.

Jones made an initial appearance October 16th before a judge, who set bail at $500,000. Jones remained jailed, and it wasn’t immediately clear if she had a lawyer who could speak for her.

MEMPHIS PASTOR, WIFE ACCUSED OF STEALING NEARLY $20K FROM 77-YEAROLD WOMAN IN CREDIT CARD SCHEME

By: Greg Coy - Fox13 MEMPHIS, Tenn.Ê- A Memphis pastor and his wife are being accused of taking advantage of a 77-year-old woman in their church, racking up nearly $20,000 on FREDRICK SMITH her credit card.Ê The family called FOX13, claiming the pastor broke his promise to pay off the credit card debt.Ê Frederick Smith, 49, was arrested in connection with the alleged scam he and his wife committed against Clevie Williams.

Jerri Smith, Frederick’s wife, was arrested last Thursday morning at 10:54. A warrant for Jerri shows the same charges as Fredrick.Ê Powers Williams told FOX13 she was only a member of the New Life Holiness Church for a few months.Ê And she said one decision, which she originally thought was an honor, ruined her credit and put her in significant debt.ÊWilliams said Smith asked her to be on the “Mother Board” of the church, which she initially took as an honor.ÊShortly after JERRI SMITH that exchange, Williams said Smith stole her identity and opened up credit cards in her name that he used.Ê Williams told FOX13 that the pastor failed on his promise to pay off the nearly $20,000 in charges he allegedly made without her consent.

S. Reasons “I was almost speechless. I could not think of anything to do,” Williams said. “I said what is this? I never in my life time had a card, or anything from Bank of America. Never. “I have never been inside one of the banks.” ® Her family gave FOX13 the last statement from Bank of America, dated April 2015.Ê The amount due was more than $19,000 – nearly $9,000 in charges made in about 10 days.Ê “We carry all of your convenient store needs” “I just could not function. I was hurt,” said Williams. “I was more or less angry, and I just didn’t know what else to do.”

Smith told FOX13 he never stole Williams’ personal information to open any credit card. He said Williams opened the card and gave it to him to use as church expenses.Ê Smith is being charged with identity theft, theft of property between $10,000 and $60,000, and forgery 731-283-2258 between $10,000 and $60,000.Ê

Eldridge Era Ends With Success In House NASHVILLE, TN- When the 111th Tennessee General Assembly convenes in January, there will be several new members in our House Republican Caucus. This includes new representation for House District 73. The good people of Madison County have been extremely fortunate to have Jimmy Eldridge serve as their voice in Nashville Rep. Jimmy Eldridge for the last 16 years. His work completed in the Tennessee General Assembly, Eldridge returns home — as you may know — to run for Jackson mayor; his experience and the relationships he has cultivated during his time in Nashville will serve him well in his future in politics.

Chairman Eldridge and his House Republican colleagues took the lead to begin addressing an opioid crisis that claimed the lives of more than 1,600 Tennesseans in 2016 with passage of the Tennessee Together plan. It is comprised of legislation, $30 million in funding as part of the budget, and other executive actions that address this paramount issue through prevention, treatment, and law enforcement.

The plan limits supply and dosage of opioid prescriptions, with reasonable exception and an emphasis on new patients. It also increases state funding to attack the illicit sale and trafficking of opioids through additional law enforcement and training, and includes updates to the controlled substance schedules in order to better track, monitor, and penalize the use and unlawful distribution of dangerous and addictive drugs — including fentanyl. Eldridge was instrumental in our process of beginning to address a complex issue that will shape the future health and well-being of our state.

While we are sad to see him leave our caucus and the House Chamber in Nashville, we appreciate his strong desire to return home and continue working to address the needs of the citizens of Jackson. We thank him for all he has done for our caucus, his community, and our state throughout the better part of almost two decades of public service, and we wish him well in his future endeavors. He will definitely be missed.

Maurice Stallard, 69, was at a Kroger supermarket when Gregory Bush, a 51-year-old white man, walked in and shot him multiple times. Bush then exited the store and shot Vickie Lee Jones, 67, in the parking lot before an armed bystander reportedly fired back, prompting him to flee. Police were unable to confirm accounts that Bush encountered a second armed man, who engaged him in a brief standoff where no shots were fired, according to the New York Times. “Don’t shoot me and I won’t shoot you,” the man’s son, Steve Zinninger, claimed Bush told his father. “Whites don’t kill whites.” Police apprehended Bush minutes later.

SUSPECTED BOMB MAKER HAS COURT APPEARANCE (CNN)The man suspected of sending 14 pipe bombs to prominent Democrats around the country will be formally charged in court Monday.

Cesar Sayoc, 56, of Aventura, Florida, is facing federal charges and could receive up to 48 years in prison if convicted.

How the alleged bomber was caught As of Friday, authorities had intercepted 14 packages Sayoc sent through the US mail system, officials said. None of the devices detonated, and no one was injured.ÊAnother package that appears identicalÊto the others was sent to CNN’s worldwide headquarters in Atlanta, but it was intercepted Monday at an off-site screening facility.

Among his alleged targets were former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former US Attorney General Eric Holder, California Senator Kamala Harris, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker and California Rep. Maxine Waters.

Sayoc is expected to stand trial on five federal crimes: interstate transportation of an explosive, illegal mailing of explosives, threats against former Presidents and other persons, threatening interstate communications and assaulting current and former federal officers.

Court appearance Sayoc appeared in the federal district court for the Southern District of Florida at 2 p.m. ET Monday, where a federal magistrate judge formally advised him of the charges against him, read him his rights and appointed counsel if necessary.

• McKinnies posted two pictures of Jones to her Facebook • Jones was found hanging in McKinnies backyard • Jones’ death has been ruled a suicide Activist Melissa Mckinnies has taken to social media with the claim that her son 24-year-old son Danye Jones was lynched on October 17 in her backyard.

McKinnies made a post to her Facebook with two pictures of her son Jones hung with what appears to be possibly a sheet. The post was removed from Facebook, but not before it was saved by social media users who continued to share it out.

Another post from McKinnies stated that if anything should happen to her that she did not kill herself. McKinnies goes on to write that Jones may have been a little sad every once in a while but he would not have hung himself in her backyard for her to find.
