Hi, my name is Anita - a passionate creative and Goldsmith by profession I love how Cricut has changed my way of thinking in terms of adding engraving details to gold and silver jewelery. I love simple geometric designs and shapes and how Cricut design Space makes it easy to turn my ideas into tangible projects for family and friends.
What you need
Materials To Cut
Wood veneer - Walnut
Wood veneer - Maple
Everything Else
Cricut Maker 3 machine
Deep point blade
Cutting Mat - recommended StrongGrip
Painters Tape Brayer
Preparation
If you want to alter the project, select Customize, then use the tools in the Edit panel to make changes to the design.
Cut
Place the Wood veneer sheet onto the cutting mat and use your brayer to roll it down for a firm adhesion. Use painters tape to tack down the edges for extra adhesion.
Cut the designs out of Maple wood veneer.
Cut the plain rectangle out of Walnut wood veneer.
Assemble
Remove the painters tape around the edges.
Carefully remove the cut pieces from the cutting mat. Because of the nature of wood veneer it is recommended to use broad tip tweezers and a spatula to help you carefully remove cut pieces from your mat.
Use a strong liquid adhesive to adhere the pieces together, but avoid using too much so it does not seep out along the edges.
Thread some ribbon through the hole and tie into a loose knot by threading the ends through a loop.
Need to Know about Wood Veneer
• Because veneer is made from real wood, grain patterns and color will vary, making every project unique.
•Veneer thickness will vary between species. Walnut is thicker than Maple, which is thicker than Cherry.
•Characteristics of the veneer will vary between species. Walnut veneers, for example, have a more obvious grain and should be handled with extra care.
•Avoid bending veneers along the grain as this will cause it to crack or break.
•For best results use tweezers rather than a spatula to remove veneers from mat.
