I joined the Cricut family in 2022 after longing to be part of it for the longest time. Despite lacking traditional painting or drawing skills, Cricut provided me with a much-needed creative outlet, making me feel like a pro in no time. I love taking existing projects and putting my own spin on them, like transforming a fire extinguisher cabinet into a beautiful gift box for Dad. My Gran’s words inspired this project: “The packaging is just as important as the gift”

Cricut Clear Acetate

Cricut Wood Veneer Walnut

Preparation

Everything Else

Deep Point Blade (Veneer)

Scoring Wheel or Scoring Stylus

Double sided tape

Foam tape

Adhesive - Tombow Mono Multi and Jewel Bond

Transfer tape for Vinyl Name

If you want to alter the project, select Customize, then use the tools in the Edit panel to make changes before you cut.

Cut Assemble

Follow the prompts in Design Space® to cut the images from the cardstock.

Insert your scoring tool when prompted.

Use the template from Louise Beauregards Fire Extinguisher Cabinet to create this box perfect for fathers day keepsakes.

Assemble the box following the video on Louise Beauregards Fire Extinguisher Cabinet. Once the basic construction is complete, add the wood veneer panels and foil kraft board embellishments.

TIP: add the inside wood veneer panels AFTER adhereing the door in place.

For extra durability and stability you can add in an extra layer of Kraft board. Decorate and finish off as desired.
