LOT TIE COLE
After embarking on a Foundation Course at Wimbledon Art School and receiving an MA degree in Art History from St Andrews University, Lottie Cole moved to Luoyang, China, to teach English for a year. On her return she continued to paint and work as an illustrator as well as working for a number of arts organisations including the National Portrait Gallery and Dulwich Picture Gallery. She worked for almost a decade at the London Library which was a source of great inspiration. Cole is well known for her paintings of Bloomsbury’s Charleston Farmhouse and Monk’s House, but in this stunning exhibition, her show builds upon the idea of the interior as a portrait with the homes of imagined collectors, largely of Modern British Art.
