ALIYA ABS
This series explores the small, precious moments of stillness hidden within the many activities of everyday life. These are the moments when we pause, turn inward, and reconnect with our own inner world – while reading, sipping a cup of coffee, gazing into the distance, or simply allowing ourselves a quiet, contemplative pause. My paintings speak of longing, nostalgia, and memories. They exist somewhere between the warmth of summer and the gentle melancholy of early autumn. In these quiet moments, thoughts of someone we love may arise, memories may resurface, or a sense of longing and absence may quietly emerge. Perhaps we miss someone or something we cannot bring back. Or perhaps we simply cherish the rare opportunity to be alone and fully present with ourselves. Each painting tells its own quiet story. Through warm tones and soft, expressive brushwork, I create an atmosphere of comfort, intimacy, and inner peace. I invite the viewer to enter these fleeting moments, to imagine the untold stories of the figures, and perhaps to recognise something of themselves – their own memories, thoughts, or deeply personal feelings.
