The Great Commission

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20 04

STATE Coordinator

JAMES AND MONICA VERNOT

James and Monica have been traveling from church to church and visiting a variety of church groups sharing the vision of Mission Cry. They have even opened their home to people so they can share about Mission Cry and what we have been able to accomplish for the Kingdom.

James is also one of our state coordinators that covers the Toledo area, picking up donations and bringing them to our headquarters in Michigan.

This is such a blessing to collect these precious Bibles and Christian books, which helps to get them into the hands of our brothers and sisters who cannot otherwise afford them. The pictures to the right are of James and Monica presenting to the Guild at Promedica Flower Hospital.

REACHING THE PEOPLE OF HONG KONG, CHINA

Be encouraged, we are making a difference in Hong Kong. We are in our 15th year of sending over 600,000 Bibles.

A 42-year-old grandmother of six grandchildren, received Bibles from Mission Cry. Below is her story:

Joanna works a low paying job in Hong Kong. For several years, she has been paid less than the equivalent of $600 USD/ month. Her workweek typically consists of 65 hours but oftentimes she actually works 90 hours. She is a survivor of both Lupus and Covid. From Joanna, “Thank you, Mission Cry, as I could never have afforded a Bible or these Christian books and learn of the beautiful things about God.”

Our Missionary on the ground in Hong Kong just received a container of Bibles, but due to the strict Covid lockdowns was not allowed to distribute the Bibles and Christian books. These materials have now been distributed using creative ways of our brothers and sisters, Glory to God! One teacher was even able to get Bibles to school children he teaches at a local primary school. Help us continue to make an impact in Hong Kong by supporting a container.

Kenya

It took several months for the logistics, but their prayer for Bibles and Christian material became a reality. This container to Kenya was received and unloaded by inmates from the Kenya Prison’s Fraternity. So powerful to see the staff praying and reading the word together. This material will be distributed to churches and many of their local prisons. Their ministry, Crime Si Poa, was started because of the alarming rate of youth incarceration. 75% of inmates are under 30 years old. The way to reach and transform the youth is by giving them the Word of God.

A quote from the founder, Peter Ouko, on receivng the Bibles & Christian books from Mission Cry:

“This is so humbling and a huge blessing to the ministry of Christ. We truly appreciate the donation and look forward to receiving it.”

The Lord has granted favor to Mission Cry’s ministry in this Kenyan prison, and they plan to continue this relationship and even reach other prisons.

Kenya (MNN) — Women make up about 18 percent of Kenya’s prisoner population. Unfortunately, prison conditions have not changed much since the early 1900’s. Sometimes firsttime offenders are even imprisoned alongside habitual felons. All in all, life in a Kenyan prison can be incredibly disturbing and hopeless.

Mission Cry ministers in a women’s prison near Nakuru, Kenya, distributing Bibles to the female inmates there.

Rev. Jason Woolford, President of Mission Cry, says, “While there’s definitely some very guilty people in this prison, I think of those that, may be over a misdemeanor, are sitting in a jail cell for years. Due to injustice and no order, these people are sitting there.”

More than just prison reform, these women are experiencing total heart changes as they begin new relationships with Jesus Christ.

“For those that are guilty and those that may have been wrongfully charged, they have hope. True hope only comes from the Word of God. They’re getting to be able to read that and then also be discipled so it’s a real blessing.”

PRISON MINISTRY IN

Reverend Woolford makes the news in Ghana.

A local news station heard about the Bible distribution. The news station sent a news crew to cover the story. The interview was broadcast over the whole country of Ghana and the requests for Bibles have been overwhelming. What a difference we have made! You can continue to make an impact in the country of Ghana when you partner with us.

Malawi Schools & Prisons

Some of the material from this container went to a school that will be used for teaching the children in Sunday school. They had enough material to start a library for the children. Material was distributed at an Evangelical Bible College and a group of Pastors

from Blantyre Pastor’s Fraternal. Bibles were distributed to inmates at the Chichiri Maximum Prison that saw a few of the inmates graduate from their training.

The school receiving our Bibles and books had enough literature to create a library. These children will be taught the Bible in their school.

THE MISSION CRY STORY

For nearly 70 years Mission Cry has been sending the Word of God and Christian books around the globe. Mission Cry with your help has sent nearly $500 million worth of donated Bibles and Christian books to over 179 nations around the world. We’ve encouraged people to send us their extra Bibles and Christian books that are sitting on their shelves, in libraries, universities, or churches. The mission then takes those Bibles and Christian books through a sorting process which are then boxed, palletized, and loaded onto a sea container to be sent around the world. Our recipients and Mission Cry missionaries on the ground can release the container and distribute these materials. Together, we are equipping orphanages, evangelists, missionaries, pastors, church members, and setting up lending libraries and Bible schools abroad. To send a sea container it costs the ministry approximately $11,000, however, within the container there is nearly $500,000.00 worth of donated Bibles, Christian authored books, Christian education, and seminary materials that are given for free. You can let the world hear your Mission Cry by asking churches and individuals too: hold book drives, help financially to support a container, sponsor the Mission Cry Bibles, volunteer at the headquarters, become drop off location and/ or pick up coordinator.

ABBOTTABAD Mission Cry is the only known organization to have ministered on the grounds where Osama bin Laden had his camp. We set feet on the compound and declared that land for the work of ministry, gave over 2000 Bibles to the 500 closest homes surrounding the compound. Additionally, we have discipled the new believers in that area, and many have been saved.

BELIZE In the country of Belize we distributed a Bible and or Christian book for every home in the entire country. We held a televised crusade throughout the entire country and ministered to the ambassador of Belize and their military special forces.

CHINA We continue to send the Word of God to China even with the new restrictions. Unfortunately, we are not able to elaborate on the details.

MEXICO Mission Cry missionaries are distributing the Mission Cry Bible in Spanish and English on the border to Mexicans Haitians, Ukrainians, Russians and many more.

If you want to share the gospel and reach the nations but are unsure of where to start, Mission Cry has many ways you can get involved. Through Bible drives, state coordinator opportunities, onsite volunteering, sharing Mission Cry with your contacts, and more, you can be a part of what we are doing to let the world hear our Mission Cry!
