Registration & Policies

First Time Registration When registering for the first time, residents will need to come into our Administrative Center to provide proof of residency by showing proper documentation. This includes any of the following: Driver's License or State ID Most recent gas, electric and/or water bill

In Person Registration

All in person registration can be taken at our Administrative Center.

Online Registration Online registration is available for everyone on our website cretepark.com.

Set Up an Online Account Returning registrants and non-residents, just give us a call at 708.672.6969 and we can set up an online account over the phone.

To secure the residential discount, first time registration needs to be done in person .

Resident Map

Cancellations and Refunds Park District reserves the right to cancel, or reschedule programs or classes. If rescheduling the class is due to CDC guidelines, participants will be rescheduled or receive a credit. If the class is canceled and not rescheduled due to other reasons, a full refund will be given. Other refund requests will be reviewed individually and must be requested at least one week prior to the start of class.

Crete Park District Joins Lincolnway Special Recreation Association

What Is Lincolnway Special Recreation Association?

Since 1976, the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association (LWSRA) has provided recreation services for individuals with disabilities through a cooperative agreement with its member park districts: Frankfort, Frankfort Square, Manhattan, Mokena, New Lenox, Peotone, Wilmington and now Crete!

Participants enjoy active, healthy and more independent lifestyles through a variety of recreation and social opportunities.

What Does This Mean For Crete Park District?

Crete Park District is excited to announce membership to Lincolnway Special Recreation Association and joining in on the mission of “Building A Community Without Limits”. Residents that reside within the Crete Park District taxing district will be able to participate in LWSRA programs at the resident rate. LWSRA has cooperative arrangements with Northern Will County Special Recreation Association (NWCSRA), South Suburban Special Recreation Association (SSSRA) and Southwest Special Recreation Association (SWSRA). Each association offers programs to the other association’s residents at in-district rates with some exceptions. Please visit the LWSRA online program guide to see full listing.

New participants (and those who last participated prior to 2020) are asked to complete a new participant form found online at: lwsra.org/new-participant. Once submitted, you’ll be able to schedule an intake meeting to gain a better understanding of what services might benefit you, tour the facility, discuss program options and help set-up your CommunityPass account for online registration.

Special Events Easter Egg Hunts Ages 1-8

The time is here...it's time for the Easter Bunny to hide his eggs in Crete Park. Bring a basket big enough to fill with all those eggs! The hunt is for walking toddler and children up to 8 years old. The Easter Bunny will be available after the hunt for children to visit. All children who register before the deadline will receive a prize bag. Please bring a canned or dry good to donate to the Crete Pantry and register before March 24. Registration after the deadline will be $7 and limited to onsite the day of the hunt.

Ballet With over 35 years of teaching experience and 5 sold out Biennial Costumed Winter Dance Shows, ballet instructor Miss Teresa welcomes dancers of all shapes, sizes and skill levels.

Miss Teresa regards success in different terms. “I want them to be good dancers, but, more importantly, to be confident and comfortable in who they are, to give their best, and to love, support, and encourage each other. In other words, to be good dancers and good people."

Ballet lessons are held at Crete Park On Main and each session runs 3 months at a time. Beginners are more than welcome to start in our beginner ballet class and Miss Teresa will assess based on skill level.

Our Preschool curriculum includes writing skills, measurement, numbers, colors and more. To be eligible for our Preschool Program, the child must be 3 by September 1 of the enrollment year and must be toilet trained. A $100 deposit and a credit card will save your spot and get you enrolled in our payment plan.

Everyone is invited, parents and children, to stop by and see our facilities and meet our teachers. They will be on hand to talk with you and answer your questions. A sample curriculum will be presented. New student registration begins immediately after the open house.

Pickleball Courts What is Pickleball?

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. It is a game that is appropriate for players of all ages and skill levels.

Rules for pickleball are simple, making it a great introductory sport. It can also be quite the challenging, fast-paced, and competitive game when people become more experienced at playing.

When Will The Courts Be Ready?

Construction is scheduled to begin in January of 2023 and will take about 4 months to finish. Opening day is scheduled to happen during Summer of 2023. An Official Opening Date will be released in our Summer 2023 EProgram Guide that comes out in May.

Who Can Play Pickleball?

Everyone can play Pickleball! Crete Park Pickleball Courts will be for public use, but as the Park District continues to grow, we'll be adding Pickleball programs and maybe even a league! Stay tuned for more info.
