With this report on our 2024-2025 fiscal year, we offer a huge, heartfelt “Thank you!” to everyone listed in the following pages who showed their support for our mission during that time period.

Whether you contributed to Creighton Prep through a gift to the AMDG Fund, BASH, an endowed or annual scholarship, a capital project or in memory or honor of another member of the Prep family, you showed us the power of generosity. Your commitment to our work also inspires us to keep improving what we do for God’s greater glory.

DEAR MEMBERS OF THE CREIGHTON PREP COMMUNITY,

On behalf of the Creighton Prep Board of Trustees, I want to welcome you to the 2025 annual report that shines a spotlight on your generosity and what your gifts make possible for our deserving young men.

All of us are so grateful for your efforts to make their Prep experience an exceptionally rich journey that prepares them not only for higher education and other postsecondary pursuits but for lives centered in service that can rally scores of others to that work.

In short, 2024-2025 was another banner year of achievement for Prep students. Among the highlights, eight were named Finalists in the 2025 National Merit® Scholarship Program, 17 were inducted in the Tri-M® Music Honor Society and 65 received an incredible 238 honors in the contest for regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

Our wrestling team won state for the first time in school history, Prep squads won both divisional state titles in the Nebraska Economics Challenge, the Ethics Bowl and Academic Decathlon teams finished nationally in the top eight and 11th, respectively, and Team 20077 The Indubitables captured fourth place at the world championship for FIRST® robotics.

Also for the first time ever, BASH netted over $1 million for financial assistance, and in a welcome development for our student-athletes and coaches, a new athletic track and field facility opened at the north end of campus for the first time in over six decades.

In addition, the board and school leadership team put the finishing touches on a 2029 strategic plan that, with your continued help, promises to take Prep to another level of excellence in academics, education of the whole person, accessibility & belonging and the infrastructure needed to meet the needs of today and the future.

In many ways, our school made great progress this past year, and so much of that credit goes to you. Your support of our amazing mission, your belief in the exceptional value of a Catholic, Jesuit education, and your confidence in our superb faculty and staff to deliver on both every day is greatly appreciated. It also drives us to keep doing our best to make Prep the standard by which all other institutions in the Jesuit Schools Network and beyond are measured.

OPERATING STATEMENT

KEEPING PREP ACCESSIBLE & AFFORDABLE

Your generous support of Prep in fiscal year 2025 was critical to our ability to help keep the power of a Prep education within reach of so many students and families in the greater Omaha area.

More specifically, that support allowed us to again provide two important benefits to them: (1) a tuition subsidy for each student that helped bridge the difference between what we charged for tuition and the actual cost of a Prep education and (2) tuition adjustments based on a family’s annual income, from less than $50,000 up to $250,000.

Fiscal year 2025 was the fifth consecutive year of implementing our income-based tuition model, and the results were everything we could have hoped for, especially in terms of attracting new families to the Prep mission at a wide range of income levels.

Other highlights of the year included:

• 59% of our students being positively impacted by tuition assistance.

• An average need-based tuition adjustment of $9,275.

• Students attending Prep from 58 ZIP codes and 73 sending schools.

GIVING BACK TO THE NEXT GENERATION PATRICK ZACH ‘05

For Creighton Prep alumnus Patrick Zach ’05, giving back is about more than honoring the past; it’s about investing in the future. When Patrick reflects on his time at Prep, the Freshman Retreat stands out as one of his most meaningful experiences. “The values that were emphasized daily — faith, service, discipline and a commitment to excellence — have stayed with me throughout my life,” he said. “Prep was a community that expected a lot, but gave even more in return: strong mentorship from teachers, deep friendships and a culture that pushed you to be your best both in and out of the classroom.”

That sense of brotherhood has endured long after graduation. Patrick and his classmates remain closely connected, regularly attending events like BASH, sporting events, reunions and even an annual golf trip that draws dozens of alumni. “I look at that group and think, what a gift Prep gave us. Brotherhood that has lasted more than 20 years.”

Now a husband and father to a four-year-old daughter and two sons, ages three and two, Patrick is already sharing the Prep spirit with the next generation. While high school is still a few years away, he has started bringing his sons to campus for games and events, planting the early seeds of what he hopes will one day be their own Prep journey.

He encourages fellow alumni with young families to reconnect however they can. “Now is the perfect time to re-engage, whether it is through giving, volunteering or simply showing up,” Patrick said. “You do not have to do everything. Just do something. Every bit helps make Prep stronger and more accessible for the next generation, including our own kids.” As Patrick looks ahead, his story is a reminder that supporting Prep is not only a reflection of where we have been but also a commitment to where we are going and who we hope our sons will become.

WHY I GIVE: CREATING A BETTER FUTURE MIKE NELSON

When my son Charlie was accepted into Creighton Prep, I felt an incredible sense of pride. I knew he wasn’t just attending one of the best schools in Omaha, rather he was entering a place where he would grow in his faith and be challenged academically.

However, I was worried about the cost. One night over pizza, I ran into the Prep basketball coach, I told him my concerns about affording tuition, and he told me, “Don’t let cost stop you, Prep will work with you,” and they did. That made all the difference.

Prep gave Charlie more than a great education. It helped him find his purpose. When I asked him how Prep impacted his life, he told me, “Prep gave me the chance to discover potential in myself that I might never have seen otherwise. I wasn’t the smartest kid or the best athlete, but Prep taught me that leadership, service and work ethic matter just as much as grades. I started checking the announcement screens every day, looking for ways to get involved — leadership programs, service, drama, even scholarship opportunities.”

One of those opportunities led Charlie to a scholarship to the University of Southern California. Today, he is a firefighter and paramedic in New Orleans. As his father, that is why I give back to Prep. I am forever grateful for what Prep gave my son. They helped shape him into the man he is today — a husband, father and public servant. I want other boys to have that same opportunity. Every graduate leaves Prep with more than a diploma; they leave prepared to make the world a better place. That to me is something worth supporting.

ROB BOLER ’99

INSPIRED BY A THREE-GENERATION FAMILY LEGACY

Honoring the impact that Creighton Prep has had on their family and wanting to help make that possible for others are two of the main reasons that Rob Boler ’99 and his wife Lisa Schlitzkus have made giving to Prep a priority in their lives, both now and in the future. Inspired by the legacy of three generations of Boler men at Prep, they’ve helped establish the Boler Family Endowed Scholarship and included it in their estate plans to ensure that their support continues for generations to come.

With his grandfather John Boler† ‘30 and father Pat Boler ’65 as proud Prep graduates, the high school choice for Rob and his brother Dan Boler ’01 was practically a foregone conclusion. “Prep felt like an instant family, and it still does,” said Rob, while noting that his friends from “early on freshman year” and the freshman B football team are still friends today. Beyond that, Freshman Retreat and the Jesuit values he “took to heart” are what stand out to him about the “big difference” that Prep made in his life.

“I see a lot of the morals and values from that education in Rob,” said Lisa. “He is so proud of being a third generation Prep alumnus, and we believe that education is a gift that can last a lifetime and help influence others.”

Through their family scholarship, they hope to make the Prep experience possible for students in need and see them grow as Men for Others through it. “We want to know that someone is truly benefiting, that we made a difference in someone’s life,” Lisa remarked. After the school tour that she and Rob had at Prep a couple of years ago, she was convinced Prep would make that happen. “The quality of education and what they were doing for these young men … we knew that our gift would be meaningful and help future generations of Prep.”

To maintain Creighton Prep’s long-term resilience in the face of challenges both known to the institution today and unknown in the future, these St. Ignatius Heritage Society members have committed to including the school in their estate plans.

OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS OF NEBRASKA

In 2024, the Opportunity Scholarships Act created a unique and impactful way for Nebraska families to access private education. The associated program from Opportunity Scholarships of Nebraska (OSN) allowed donors to receive a state income tax credit in exchange for contributions to scholarship-granting organizations that provided need-based scholarships to qualifying students.

During its single year in effect, donations through OSN totaling $696,243 made the Prep experience possible for 138 students whose families may not have otherwise been able to afford it.

The impacts of this powerful initiative will be felt for years to come in the lives of those students and families, and in the lives of all those in our community who benefited from their participation in our mission.

Thank you to all of the people and organizations whose generosity made this program a success for our school.

HONORING HIS MOTHER’S LEGACY THROUGH GIVING

For Michael Magilton ’94 , Creighton Prep is not just part of his past, it is part of who he is. “Prep had a huge impact on me,” he said. “Academically, spiritually, interpersonally, it shaped the way I think, lead and connect with others.” That is why he established the Concepción Magilton Endowed Scholarship, named in honor of his mother, a beloved former Prep teacher and the person who made his journey to Prep possible.

Michael grew up attending public schools and did not know anyone at Prep when he started. “It was a big leap, and it was difficult at first,” he said. “But my mom knew it was the best place for me, and she was right.” She encouraged him to apply, and just one year after he graduated, she began teaching at Prep herself.

Michael said Prep helped him grow into the man he is today, and the scholarship is his way of ensuring other young men have the same opportunity, even if they cannot afford it. “I want to help kids who want to be at Prep but do not have the means. Financial aid made a significant difference for me, and now I get to pay that forward.”

Looking back, Michael reflects often on the role Prep played in his life. “Prep taught me the value of hard work and resilience, to be intellectually curious and humble, and the importance of serving others. That kind of formative experience stays with you for a lifetime,” he said. “If Prep made a difference in your life, I would encourage you to think about giving back. There is no better time to support the school’s mission.”

ROOTED IN PURPOSE: THE HEART OF A PREP EDUCATION

On April 2, Creighton Prep hosted the second annual Scholarship Appreciation Breakfast in the the Sullivan Campus Center. The event brought together donors and students, highlighting the lasting impact of scholarships on Prep students’ lives.

“Meeting the students makes this impact come to life for our donors,” said Fr. Matt Spotts, SJ, president of Creighton Prep. “They’re investing in the life of a student and witnessing the growth we see every day.”

Donors and students shared conversations over breakfast, forming connections that reflected the purpose behind

each scholarship. Senior Daniel Wessling shared how support helped him grow in confidence, service and leadership. “Your generosity allows us to focus on learning without the weight of financial stress,” said Wessling, who will attend Vanderbilt University.

In 2025, 200 students benefited from endowed scholarships, which ensure the legacy of Prep continues for future generations. The morning served as a reminder that behind every scholarship is a story of hope, belief and the transformative power of a Jesuit education.

Monday, September 18, 2024 was another outstanding day of golf, camaraderie and fundraising at the 25th Anniversary Men for Others Golf Classic at Omaha Country Club.

Golf was followed by a reception for participants in the clubhouse, where Director of Alumni Relations Mike Beacom ‘85 was the emcee for a short program that included remarks by Creighton Prep President Fr. Matt Spotts,

SJ and senior Nolan Wipf ‘25 talking about his Prep experience. Golf awards were then presented, including to the tournament champions Tom Carlisle ‘78 and Steve Eck.
