During my time in school, I have come to understand that architecture should teach one about themselves. Growing up in the rural south, great design always felt obsolete and disconnected from its true purpose. At its core, I aspire to see design that generates life for people, which is what this academic portfolio strives to achieve. Thank you for taking the time to review my work, and I hope you enjoy!

Based in Gulfport, MS, this project focuses on the program of a black box theater designed to celebrate structural steel and coastal resiliency. For the case of many theater-related programs, theaters can act as this place for one to escape the reality of their day-to-day life. For this project, this idea of bridging into this alternate reality became an important focus of the program. In relationship to the program of a black box theater, it became an important focus for this project to expose the “bones” of a theater performance, just as this building celebrates its own set of bones through the celebration of structural steel. This exposure is done by bringing the rehearsal studio and costume shop to the street edge inside the theater lobby.

3 BACK BAY MARKET
fourth year | spring semester
Project Location: Biloxi, MS
Programs Used: Revit, Enscape, Adobe Suite
Biloxi, MS is a city that has been damaged by disaster many times. Since 2005 Biloxi has been slow to recover from the damages caused by Hurricane Katrina, creating a number of issues such as housing insecurity, unstable job market, and low-quality food infrastructure.
Building on East Biloxi’s rich seafood history, the Back Bay Market is designed to address the food industry of East Biloxi, bringing new fresh food markets into a hurting community. Above these markets resides a series of residential units, all raised above the Katrina flood plain levels. The Back Bay Market hopes to have a steady impact on the hurting economy of East Biloxi, while also addressing the issues on housing insecurity and an unstable job market.
A City Damaged by Disaster
Biloxi, MS is a city that has been susceptible to natural disaster for many years. Katrina was a devastation to many major cities along the gulf coast, and this was not different for the city of Biloxi. Since 2005, Biloxi has been slow to recover from the damages caused by Katrina and is continuously battling the poor efforts to restore its poor infrastructure. This project focuses on the citizens of Biloxi’s three most important needs: healthy food selection, healthy food markets, and adequate job market.

4THE ARTISTRY
Project Location: Laurel, MS
The Artistry is a collection of four short-term rental properties in downtown Laurel, MS. With a growing demand for enhanced user experiences with vacation rentals, the goal for this project was to create a different experience for each room, highlighting the talent and rich history that Mississippi has to offer. These four rooms would highlight the following: famous Mississippi Musicians, Artists, Writers, and Photography. For this project, I was responsible for the graphic representation of these ideas, as well as formulating each room to get ready for listing.

SKETCH COLLECTION
This section features a small glimpse of my sketch collection since my time in architecture school. Many of the sketches I do help aid in pre/schematic design process as shown to the left, while others serve soley as a study mechanism for me to grow my sketching abilities.
