Bijou, a lovely girl, as beautiful as she is talented, struggles to become a professional dancer. Following a criminal incident, she is unfairly flunked out of an entrance audition for Plastic Ballet. Contrary to all expectations, her exceptional qualities shut all doors and Bijou goes from failure to failure, constantly rejected by others. When a tragic event leads her to certain death, Bijou defies the laws of nature. She returns to life but seems “different” …
A different girl, a different life and different ambitions: thrust into the fashion world, Bijou becomes the most sought-after top model on the planet. Everyone fights to have her and nothing resists her anymore. Only the number of murders committed around her, terrifying her friends, leads us to expect the worst. And what if Bijou was no longer the sweet, brilliant girl she used to be but only the darkest part of herself? … Was there a way to keep her from remaining this evil creature she has become?

Emilie Flory & her Genre Bending Trauma Dolls by Shirin
Emilie Flory becoming something of an underground icon Her upcoming project Trauma Dolls, about woman named Bijou who suffers horrible accident and becomes fashion model with murderous intent, may propel her into the radar of horror fans in the US and abroad Her first directorial work was on the tenminute Process about five people struggling in futuristic dystopian world They fight with each other when they think one, computer genius, will enslave humanity Trauma Dolls talks about the battle we have to wage against ourselves continually to act “CORRECTLY and to progress”, Flory said in an interview with Wicked Horror
The film reminds one of Hiroshi Teshigahara’s Face of Another (about man who undergoes strange plastic surgery after his face burned off)
but re imagined as slasher with different, more modern moral compass Flory director who knows what she wants She has mentioned on numerous occasions her fervent interest and involvement in genre (ever since she saw Jaws as seven year old) She strives to create original ideas within the horror genre, saying that writing and filmmaking are barely different, that they are extensions of themselves…
Movie shot on 35mm and screened at the HollyShorts Monthly Screenings in Los Angeles.
When the company in charge of promoting French movies turned down Processus with the excuse that hadn’t directed it, totally lost got so angry that for the first time in my life seriously wondered wasn’t going to start hurting people and become someone evil The idea of crossing over to the other side (even though work every day trying to become better person) and thinking of myself as monster horrified me so much that had terrible nightmares And that’s when the idea for Trauma Dolls came to me

It’s life in record time with all of its uncertainties but blown way out of proportion! can be exhausting You understand why great filmmakers, those who give the most, those whom we admire and are true visionaries, aren’t those who make the most movies
