F&M INDUSTRIES The company’s main product is Jiko Tosha , a hybrid cook stove that uses multiple sources of
energy, that is LPG gas, biogas and biomass briquettes which gives the end user alternatives depending on their disposable income. F & M Industries established in 2017 and has sold 180 cookstoves to date. They envision to have sold 600 cookstoves upon receiving support from the Proof of Concept grant by KCIC. To facilitate marketing of the cook stove, the team is using Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs) and Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) to rollout and push the adoption of the Jiko Tosha. UKULIMA TECH LIMITED Ukulima Tech Limited, a company established in 2015 assembles and installs vertical gardens to households in the urban and peri-urban areas. Vertical farming is the practice of producing food in vertically inclined surfaces and/or integrated in other structures. The layering of the tubes generates more planting space in a relatively small or limited space. It therefore presents people who are living in urban and periurban regions with an organic means to grow food for themselves and for profit. Ukulima Tech’s competitiveness and innovation is best shown through their 40 Watts solar powered drip irrigation kit . The irrigation kit is inclusive of the
solar panel and a water tank. Garden automation is therefore an automatic system of irrigation that enables individuals to irrigate, manage and control their farm system remotely through a touch of a button. The unit cost of production of the standard system is $145 and retails at $ 220. The company targets households in the urban and peri-urban areas with the intent to grow their vegetables organically and with access to minimal resources e.g. water and land. MAJIK WATER SOLUTIONS Majik Water are harvesting clean drinking water from the air/atmosphere in arid and
semi-arid areas in Kenya. They have developed a prototype that harvests 10 litres of water in 24 hours in relative humid areas of 55%. Air is pulled into the device using a solar powered fan Desiccant material that absorbs water droplets from the air. The Desiccant is exposed to heat (generated by solar), releasing the moisture as water vapour. This water vapour is condensed into water and filtered with activated carbon. ADARSH POLYMER Adarsh Polymer makes Industrial Fuel called Safi HFO from Waste Plastic. The fuel is used in
industrial boilers and furnaces. Safi HFO has a low sulphur content and is considered a green product. Safi HFO is an energy efficient fuel that can be a suitable alternative to the petroleum heavy fuel oil adopted in many industries. Adarsh Polymer recycles Polyethylene (HDPE and LDPE), Polypropylene, Polystyrene to produce SafiHFO. The plant has a capacity to convert 10 tons of plastic per day into fuel. sim sim, peanuts, honey and cashew nuts as its raw materials. Currently the company is in discussions on retailing its products, to various retail companies In Kenya. As a requirement to obtain this selling platform, the company requires barcodes on its products. It gets its raw materials from farmers thus helps them reduce post-harvest losses. empowering over 300 smallholder farmers to grow Moringa oleifera , a nutritious climate-resilient
vegetable plant. It helps improve the livelihoods of farmers with additional income. It produces

IKO BRIQ LIMITED
Iko Briq Limited was founded in 2015 to develop, manufacture and market a flexible product line of highly cost-effective biomass fuels for boilers
like briquettes and pellets. Iko briq piloted their cookstove project in Kakuma Refugee Camp. To ensure the sustainability of the cookstoves market, the company also manufactures and sells pellets as a source of the fuel for the gasifiers. They are in the process of developing a forced draft micro-gasifier cookstove for its clean cooking product that combines pellets and gasifiers.
