What is the Veterans Service Program? Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces are entitled to certain benefits that reflect the pride and gratitude the Country has for its Veterans. The Surry County Veterans Services Office is an advocate for Veterans and their dependents regarding disability compensation, pension, VA health care, education, insurance, and death benefits to name a few. We also assist Veterans and their dependents in obtaining important documentation needed to apply for benefits. NC
Some of the services offered by the Veterans Services Office include the following:
Some of the things that we can assist you with but not limited to: Service connected disability compansation.
Informs veterans, dependents, and survivors of their eligibility for benefits payable through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Disability pension.
Helps to complete forms for benefits that may be payable through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Loans guarantee.
Assist in a variety of services for active duty, retired militairy and their dependents with things such as ID cards appointment, etc. Informs survivors of procedures regarding militairy benefits. Assist in obtaining supporting documents for claims by Veterans, their spouses and dependents. Assist in obtaining DD 214 and other militairy records.
Burial benefits. Surviving spouse benefits (DI & death pension) Vocational rehabilitation. Insurance. Veterans education. Dependents education. VA dept management. Special benefits for disabled Veterans & their families. Appeals Discharge corrections North Carolina benefits. NC Division of VA Educational Scholarships.
