Over the course of five years, Australian mare Winx has rewritten racing history.

The 2011 Thoroughbred (Street Cry x Vegas Showgirl) had an incredible 37 career wins, tying with the legendary Phar Lap. Owned by Magic Bloodstock, Richard Treweeke & Debbie Kepitis, and trained

Tempel Lipizzans of Illinois is home to the largest privately-owned herd of Lipizzans in the world, and is home to stallion Favory Airiella and his dam Airiella. Favory Airiella has been trained for the courbette, a difficult maneuver where a horse balances on its hind legs and jumps forward several times.

Lipizzan stallions like Favory Airiella get the first part of their name from their sire’s line (Favory) and the second part from their dam’s line (Airiella). Note: Favory Airiella is depicted as a foal. Like most Lipizzaners, he turned grey as he matured!

Peptoboonsmal

Peptoboonsmal is a winner of over $180,000 in National Cutting Horse Association competitions and 1995 NCHA Futurity Open Champion. He is an overwhelmingly successful sire: Peptoboonsmal’s offspring have earned over $26 million dollars in competition, primarily in cutting and reined cow horse events. Pepto’s distinctive strawberry roan coloring and white blaze are often passed on to his progeny. A welcome addition to the Breyer line of portrait horses!

The Ideal Series pays homage to the artwork of renowned equine artist Orren Mixer and his famed “ideal” horse breed paintings. Over the course of Mixer’s career, seven horse breed associations commissioned him to paint their breed’s ideal. These images have cemented Mixer’s place as one of history’s preeminent equine artists. In celebration of the American Paint Horse Association’s 40th birthday in 2002, they commissioned Mixer to paint a new portrait. Titled “The Sire,” it featured an overo stallion looking over his colorful herd. Today, this painting hangs in the APHA headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.
