Silica-coated Magnetic Particles

Page 1

Silica-coated Magnetic Particles Creative Diagnostics provides homogeneous and monodispersed silica-coated superparamagnetic particles ranging from 50 nm to 1 Îź m. The silica coatings protect the magnetic core against oxidation and toxicity. Thus, the particles can maintain magnetic property and be biocompatible in biological applications. The particle surface with terminal Si-OH bonds is hydrophilic in nature which makes our particles well dispersed in aqueous suspensions and provides stability. In addition, silica shell prevents aggregation of the magnetic particles efficiently as a result of sheltering of the magnetic dipole interaction and negatively charged surface which contributes to separation of biomolecules through electrostatic interactions. These two features are of much concern because aggregation of the magnetic particles can reduce or diminish their ability to be superparamagnetic, especially for MRI applications. It's worth mentioning that the silica surface with hydroxyl groups can be used for further coatings by a variety of organosilane chemistry approaches or modified with functional groups for DNA and RNA purifications or other applications. Key Features: Monodispersity and stability without aggregations. Great biocompatibility in biological tests. Attachment of further functionalities through covalent bonding. Ideal for purification of DNA and RNA and other functional group based applications. https://www.cd-bioparticles.com/products/silica-coated-magnetic-particles.html
