We are very fortunate to have over 60 acres of school grounds which gives us so many opportunities for a variety of sports pitches and courts as well as astro-turf areas and wooded areas for orienteering. Unfortunately recent storm damage to our athletics track has resulted in students and our wider community being unable to use this superb facility. We are now looking to raise funds for the full refurbishment of our athletics track which will bring far reaching benefits for the whole community, not just our school.

STOP CRACKS FOR

A buzzing community centre with something for everyone

Since 2018, The Old Girls’ School Community Centre in Sherburn-in-Elmet has operated as a buzzing centre after it was saved from potential demolition by a group of concerned residents who were determined to save it

Numerous volunteers’ time and lottery money went into upgrading the building into the welcoming hub it is today.

The centre now offers rooms for parties, weddings receptions, meetings, training and events. Local businesses operate from the site including a podiatrist, physio and Cafe 1876 which opened in May 2025.

They have a number of regular groups and classes running including yoga, baby groups, arts and crafts, live music, a regular cinema and a thriving gaming group for fans of Warhammer, Dungeons & Dragons, Infinity and more.

Deano’s pizza will be at Jigsaws offering their homemade wood fired pizzas fresh ingredients and a variety of toppings. A percentage of all purchases goes to our development fund.

As a not-for-profit organisation we need to raise funds to support our new build expansion project.

We are arranging fund raising events throughout the year and we hope you can join us and help our early years setting.

We have been part of the local community for the last 17 years caring and educating 100’s of preschool children and we want to make sure we can be part of the next generations education.
