- One Night of Classic Rock

One Night of Classic Rock comes to the Riley-Smith Hall, Tadcaster, on Saturday 27th September

Following the smash success of last year’s event, bringing it back for 2025 was an easy call. Get ready as this electrifying experience is returning, louder and more powerful than ever.

The show’s popularity stems from the variety of talented male and female performers, alongside the diverse content with a unique mix of rock classics. The old favourites are still there with many new numbers to suit all tastes.

The fully licensed bar will be open all evening throughout the show from 6.45pm to approximately 10.30pm.

At only £15 per ticket this event will yet again be very popular with limited seats so order online now from: ticketsource.co.uk and search: One Night Classic Rock.

Steve Coates, producer, has had a busy year since last year’s show, with another rock show, a Broadway spectacular

and a huge children’s charity show at The Grand Opera House in York to raise funds for The Snappy Trust.

After this show, he will be staging his first full length musical in York called Disenchanted!, a funny story of all your favourite princesses including Snow White, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Ariel, and Sleeping Beauty to name a few. It’s full of songs and dance with bucketloads of humour.

Be sure to pencil this in your diary, at Joseph Rowntree Theatre from October 22nd25th. Tickets will go on sale in August.

In September 2026, Steve will be bringing the electrifying Queen musical We Will Rock You to the stage, officially licensed and ready to blow the roof off. Get ready for a show like no other.

Tadcaster Grammar Schooloffering so much more than an excellent education!

Students enjoying a watersports residential in Spain

Mr Andrew Parkinson, headteacher, told Tadcaster Echo: “As our school continues to grow and thrive, we take pride in supporting all our fantastic students to develop our core values of ambition, resilience, respect and responsibility, whilst constantly encouraging them to strive to be their best self.”

They have 70 acres of stunning grounds and superb sports facilities including multiple sports fields, tennis courts, astroturf pitches, basketball courts and woods for exploring and orienteering.

The wellbeing of students is central to TGS - year and pastoral leaders meet students in year 7 and stay with them throughout their five years of main school, so they really get to know each other well - this helps us support each student to grow in confidence, ambition and motivation to achieve. Their curriculum offer is broad, balanced and strengthened through an enviable range of extracurricular activities. All students are encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities - they all have individual talents and the school experience is designed to nurture these, whatever they may be.

In addition to year 7 residentials and geography field trips, students can join visits to French or German markets, there’s a battlefield tour for year 10 history pupils and others such as theatre/ musical visits/workshops, ski-ing, as well as regional and national sporting events.

Some 99.8% of lessons are taught by highly experienced subject specialists, and each year, student academic achievements see results consistently above the national average. The Sixth Form at TGS continues this commitment to excellence - developing the whole individual where sixth formers are superb role models for younger students.

Visit on Saturday 27th September, 9am12pm and discover what a special place TGS really is.

Sixth Form Open evening, Thursday 9th October, 6pm-8pm.
