yclists the world over agree: for those who love life on two wheels, Park City is is the ultimate playground. That’s the word from BIKE Magazine’s venerable Bible of Bike Tests, which featured Park City’s amazingly extensive, four-season cycling terrain in its 2020 edition. The magazine’s crew of expert reviewers trekked to Park City in order to test the latest and greatest in mountain bikes on its stunningly diverse terrain. “The networks that criss-cross [Park City’s] valleys are so dense and so diverse,” the editors noted, “that you could easily ride all day and never lose sight of town, never cross the same path twice, and never, ever get bored.” Argent’s Deer Valley location means you’re on the threshold of a stunningly diverse array of trail, road and off-road cycling opportunities. From leisurely paved and gravel trails, to full-throttle mountain descents, there’s something for everyone, and always an intriguing new trail to follow. CRUISING & TRAIL RIDES Former railroad corridor the “Rail Trail” epitomizes the ready accessibility of cruising and trail rides, for novice riders, families, and those simply seeking an easygoing ride. Now a non-motorized path, it travels 28 miles out of town. Another trail ideal for cruising is that paralleling Highway 224—the main thoroughfare in and out of town. There are also miles of paved and gravel trail throughout Park City itself. BACK-ROAD BIKING/ROAD CYCLING Kick it up a notch with one of Park City’s many back-road cycling trails that make the most of the region’s exhilarating elevation changes. The Empire, or Guardsman, Loop takes you on a heart-pumping journey 35 miles from Kearns Boulevard (Hwy 248) east toward Kamas. Its uphill climb rewards with awe-inspiring views. MOUNTAIN BIKING When mountain biking went mainstream in the mid-1990s, Park City had 15 miles of legal trails. Today, you’ll find 450 miles of sanctioned singletrack. As the first-ever recipient of the prestigious Gold Level Ride Center designation from the International Mountain Bicycling Association, Park City is renowned worldwide for its vast, diverse, and well connected cycling terrain. According to the IMBA, “Park City continues to set the bar for what a world-class mountain biking destination should look like. Any mountain biker from the beginner to the adventure-fueled veteran will enjoy themselves in Park City.” DEER VALLEY RESORT Within Deer Valley Resort, you’ll find mountain bike trails including some new “flow trails.” The company Gravity Logic built these trails full of banked turns, rolling terrain, and even a few jumps. The flow trail has been called the “dirt carnival ride” of cycling, designed to be fun and manageable for riders of almost any level. WINTER FAT-TIRE BIKING Winter doesn’t chill the cycling fever at Park City, now that a newer style of snow biking has come on the scene. NASHVILLE UNPLUGGED Ever wonder how a mega-hit country song is made? Nashville Unplugged brings the music, the makers, and the behind-the-stage stories to Main Street Park City. These unique performances feature monthly, and sometimes bi-monthly, shows in the Listening Room at local watering hole O.P. Rockwell. Each show features acoustic performances by some of country music’s most influential songwriters. These are the artists who create hits for country stars like Garth Brooks, Kathy Mattea and Keith Urban. The artists reveal the stories behind how the songs were written, and play the songs

as they were originally conceived. The show’s rotating roster of artists include D. Vincent Williams, who’s written over 550 songs including hits like Rascal Flatts’s “I’m Movin’ On,” Ty Herndon’s “Hands of a Working Man” and James Otto’s “Just Got Started Lovin’ You.” As Nashville Unplugged becomes a beloved staple on the Park City entertainment scene, and as more and more artists come here to perform, it’s no wonder the town has recently launched its own music festival, the Park City Songwriter Festival, or “The Best Little Mountain Music Festival in America.”
