Now Offering: 5-day/ week pick-up

We are excited to bring back 5-days/week pick-up! For restaurants that opt in, we will service your bins every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you would like to switch to 5 days/week pick-up, please email oysters@crcl.org for pricing.

Pre-Shift Meetings CRCL offers pre-shift meetings to train restaurant staff on oyster shell recycling. By learning more about the program, restaurants can SELL and RECYCLE more oysters to help restore our coast.

Shell-A-Bration

On Saturday, March 25th, CRCL hosted our 4th annual Shell-A-Bration fundraiser at Crescent Park. This event included music from Da Truth Brass Band and the Lost Bayou Ramblers, oysters and other food from our partner restaurants, a silent auction, a raffle and a kid's craft area. THANK YOU to the restaurants that supported and donated to this event: Superior Seafood & Oyster Bar, Pêche, Deanie's Seafood, The Blue Crab, Bourbon House, Mister Mao, Elysian Seafood and Sidecar Patio & Oyster Bar. This event was a huge success with 473 attendees learning how your restaurants keep oyster shells out of landfills.

Superior Seafood staff came out to our oyster shell recycling site and bagged 6 tons of shell for the next reef project! Contact us anytime if you would like to bring your staff out to see your shells being recycled. Visit CRCL.org for information on all our upcoming events.

Violet Site Update

Newly painted mural on volunteer equipment shed.

Our volunteer equipment shed was recently painted by artist Zac Maras (@zmarasart). His inspiration was to illustrate how oyster reefs support diverse wildlife. Let us know what you think and come see the mural for yourself at our next bagging event. Thanks Zac for your incredible work!

Chef's Brigade Partnership

Deanie's Bucktown owner Chandra Chifi shared her appreciation for the program with us. Chef's Brigade makes it possible for Deanie's to recycle their oyster shells

Through our partnership with Chef's Brigade, we have been able to add more restaurants to our program with even more to come! Since the launch of our partnership in May 2021, Chef's Brigade-sponsored restaurants recycled a total of 34 tons of shell! They were also recently featured in Country Roads Magazine for their Chef's on Boats Program. Thank you Chef's Brigade for their continual support for oyster shell recycling.
