HOW IT WORKS Step 1: Eat Oysters These delectable bivalves are served up by the millions, to residents and tourists alike, each year in south Louisiana.

Step 2: Recycle Aer the oysters are eaten, restaurant partners store the shells in recycling bins provided by CRCL. Contractors regularly collect the shells and take them to the CRCL Restoraon Headquarters to be cured and prepared for use in restoraon projects.

The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana is the only statewide nonprofit organizaon dedicated to coastal restoraon. CRCL’s mission is to unite people in acon to achieve a thriving, sustainable Louisiana coast for all.

Visit CRCL.org to find out how to volunteer or become a restaurant partner.

Step 3: Restore CRCL hosts volunteer events to return all collected shells to Louisiana waters to help restore oyster reefs, create habitat and stabilize our imperiled coastline. Oyster reefs also grow vercally and serve as one of the lines of defense to protect our coast from damage caused by hurricanes and tropical storms.
