Adventures in Art: Drawing Class – Ages 6-12

Landscapes, animals, people and more! This drawing-based art education program uses a simple drawing method to produce original works of art using a wide variety of artist quality mediums. Students learn to think creatively, expand their drawing skills, and become more confident in self-expression, all while having fun in a non-competitive environment of encouragement and artistic inspiration. Galaxy Adventures Art Camp – Age 7-11

Launch into outer space with us as we search for alien life forms while explore our amazing galaxy and beyond! Drawing and craft projects will chronicle our space travels. Please bring a healthy snack to enjoy on the journey $10 supply fee paid to Instructor Jessica Carlson, who will be piloting our space voyage.

ArtWise Northwest

World of Color Camp – Ages 6-13

Our amazing WORLD OF COLOR will inspire us through this fun exploratory Art camp. This camp will delight those kids who love to be creative! Insects, color wheels, a desert scene, and much more! Artists will be enchanted with techniques in art mediums such as oil/chalk pastels, printmaking, various paints, mixed media, and even paper mache. Join us to create two Art projects each day and spend the afternoons creating a sculpture out of paper mache inspired by our colorful world. The camp ends with a Friday Art Show so family and friends can see all that the artists have learned throughout the week. Join us for this awesome week of creative fun! Amazing Animals Camp – Ages 6-13

Do you love Animals? Come explore the amazing “WORLD of ANIMALS”. This day camp will dive into animal habitats and excite your young artist to return the next day. We will be doing two Art projects each day and spend the afternoon sculpting an animal mask with paper mache and paper clay. The camp ends with a Friday Art Show so family and friends can see all that they have learned throughout the week. Once upon a time… the most popular summer camp decided to turn children’s favorite story books into fantastical slimy adventures. In this camp, STEAM Teams will mix up and create new slime classics like Alice’s Unbirthday Cake Slime, Charlie’s Everlasting Gobstopper Slime, Percy’s Blue Cookie Slime, Narnia’s Turkish Delight Slime and STEAMwarts Butter Beer Slime. World Cruise Camp™ - Ages 7-12

Set sail for imagination and adventure with this World Class camp! You and your fi rst mates will design and build your own cruise ship to embark on a voyage around the globe. In Thailand you will construct a prosthetic limb for an elephant, engineer a Dragon roller coaster in China, and build an aqueduct in Rome. Arcade Mania Camp™ - Ages 7-12

This Kids-Choice Challenge Island adventure puts a 100% SCREEN-FREE twist on popular video games Campers will build their own REAL (not digital games) that include a Fort with trapdoors, and floor traps. They will design real-life versions of retro games like Mario Brothers, Space Aliens and even Pinball Machines! This camp will inspire kids to put aside screens and build real physical games. Jr. STEAM Explorers - Ages 4-6

Introducing for the first time, a camp where kids aged 4 – 6 years can explore the sciences, technology, ecology, culture and arts. Young campers will learn-about and build an African Safari, a playground for monkeys in India, a Parisian picnic at the base of the Eiffel Tower (and build the tower too), and other stops in Sydney, the Amazon Rainforest, and more Location: FAC Rm 208 & 207

Pee Wee Shakespeareans Camp – Ages 5-8

GreenStage, a Shakespeare-in-the-park company, that exposes students to Shakespeare using creative dramatics, storytelling, and art. Students create their own 10-minute version of a play loosely based one of one of Shakespeare’s stories, using a few of his phrases, and some of his characters to be performed Friday at Noon. Stage Combat & Shakespeare Basics Camp – Ages 11-17

GreenStage is a Shakespeare-in-the-park company All week we will concentrate on learning basic combat moves plus sword work and how to tell a story in a few scenes of Shakespeare’s plays (depending on how many participants). There will be a one-hour performance outdoors on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Much Ado About Nothing Camp – Ages 9-17

GreenStage is a Shakespeare-in-the-park company. Much Ado About Nothing, a cut one-hour version of the play will be rehearsed and performed outdoors on Friday. The play is about Benedick and Beatrice who can’t stand each other but everyone around them joins in a plot to get them to fall in love. Claudio loves Hero, but the villain Don John can’t stand the thought Claudio being happy and tries to break them apart. Throw in comic servants and the community watch to add to the entanglements that gets untied in the end A one-hour outdoor performance on Friday at 2 p.m. Location: FAC Amphitheater

Harwood Studios Summer Music & Drama Camp

Ages 7-14

A fun musical day camp. Sing, Dance, make costumes and props, paint, and learn all aspects of putting on a Musical about outdoor safety Must be willing to sing, dance and be silly Activities include learning simple dance steps, singing the songs in the musical, learning about outdoor safety, acting, painting rocks, pantomime and more. Instructors are knowledgeable in dance, music, and drama. The musical called "Mighty Hikers" words and Music by instructor Dorothy Harwood, will be performed for parents and anyone who wants to watch at the amphitheater at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 8. Art and Drama with Jane Lewis and Amanda Tang; Choreography and dance with Barby Rhind; music and singing with Dorothy Harwood. Students will supply their own sack lunches. Skate Dojo

Inline Skating Summer Camp – Age 8-16

Skate Dojo is back! This Inline Skate Summer Camp will go over the basics of skating: how to fall, stop, turn, skate backwards, crossover, pivot, and more. As we progress to intermediate and advanced levels throughout the week, we will learn to skate at the skatepark. We start our day with stretching and warm ups to get ready for our time on skates. We’ll also be playing fun camp games like tag etc. Camp will be split by age and skill level. All recreational levels of experience are welcome! Participants should provide their own gear, including helmet, pads and skates. Limited equipment is available for rental Pricing is as follows:

Build and program robots in this introductory Robotics class using the LEGO® Spike Prime® system. Learn basic programming skills using a simple and visual block coding system that will allow kids to grasp new and diverse coding challenges. Join us as we build a variety of different robots using motors, sensors and lights that will make for a fun experience that incorporates both building with LEGO® and coding. This is a great way to prepare young Robotics enthusiasts for our more advanced Robotics programs.

Playing in a steelband is fun and educational! Join internationally-known steelpan artist and educator, Gary Gibson, to learn music fundamentals (rhythm, melody, harmony) and beginning steelpan techniques, and to make some new musical friends! Don't confuse "gentle" with "slow"! This class is alignment based with regular work on poses that promote and increase balance, strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. Students are able to use props as needed to work at their own comfort level while still challenging themselves in a variety of poses, from standing to seated to supine.
