5 SEPTEMBER 2025

Message from the Headmaster

I would like to extend a very warm welcome back to everyone for the start of the new academic year. Over the summer we had a wonderful first set of GCSE results. There were some outstanding individual performances, with our highest achieving pupil receiving 9 Grade 9s, plus an A grade (the highest grade possible) in Additional Maths. I was delighted that 74% of all grades were at Grades 9-6 (the old A*-B) with nearly half of all grades at Grades 9-7 (the old A*/A); both of these measures are more than twice the national average.

Our staff have been working hard behind the scenes, planning engaging and challenging learning experiences that will inspire and motivate all pupils. Our Year 7 pupils arrived back at school on Wednesday for an induction afternoon. It was a pleasure to see them in their smart new senior school uniform ready for the year ahead. Earlier in the week, we welcomed senior school pupils for pre-season football and rugby training, to hone their skills ahead of their first fixtures. I met with Year 11 on Thursday morning to share how committed we are to teaching, supporting and guiding them each step of the way to public examinations.

I look forward to seeing you at some point over the next week at the information evenings, drop-off or collection. Once again, thank you for placing your trust in Cranmore and for your continued support.

Mr Everitt

Year 7 Induction

It was wonderful to welcome our Year 7 pupils back to school on Wednesday for their induction afternoon. They met their new form teachers and took part in a variety of ice breaking activities as well as a treasure hunt which enabled them to tour the school.

A Message from our Chaplaincy Team

This Week

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew

‘Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life. Do not worry about what you will eat or drink; or about your body and what you will wear. Is there not more to life than food, and more to your body than clothes?

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?’

Reflection

Welcome back, everyone, to a new school year. It is always a little daunting starting a new school year. We have many different emotions: excited, worried and perhaps many others. But we are reminded in our reading not to worry. God has your back, He sees you and He loves you. Learn this week to listen to God’s voice to hear those words of affirmation: you can do this.

Prayer

Lord, bring peace and calm to the storms that I may face this week or this year. Help me to listen to your words of affirmation and of love. Help me this year to be my best and to know that you have me in the palm of your hands. I make this prayer through Christ our Lord.

Amen

“May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.”

Day

Our Open Morning will take place on the morning of Saturday, 13 September, from 10:30am to 12:30pm. We look forward to welcoming you all to our school!
