Welcome! I do hope that you had a wonderful summer holiday. It is delightful to see all the girls back up the hill, and I extend a particularly warm welcome to members of our community who are new. I have no doubt that everyone will find their feet very quickly. There is, moreover, busy-ness and a lovely, lively atmosphere. As you will be aware, we have dispensed with bubbles and are running the school as normally as possible. We do still encourage the use of twice-weekly lateral flow testing; my understanding is that the Government will review this at the end of the month. My thanks to all who were involved in the mass testing that took place on Friday of last week and Wednesday of this week. We are also ventilating classrooms by keeping the windows and doors firmly open for now. We remain alert, but, nevertheless, it has been joyous to allow movement around the site, singing in assembly and in chapel (the school hymn making an unprecedented four appearances this week - and quite right too) and gatherings of mixed year groups. These are things that we will never take for granted again. My congratulations must go to our outgoing Year 13s and current Year 12s for their excellent A Level and GCSE results. We could not be prouder of what they have achieved academically in the most trying of circumstances. 42% of the A Level cohort gained places at Russell group universities, including Oxbridge; but our felicitations go to each and every examination pupil in our erstwhile Year 13 who achieved such splendid results. They head out into the world. I have no doubt that they will make a difference; they are a memorably cracking year. Year 12 are set fair to excel at A Level, and I look forward to them embracing life in the Sixth Form. I look forward to meeting parents of new girls later on today, at our reception at 5.30pm. I do hope that you have a good weekend. Best wishes, Dr Claire McShane
