Message from the Head of Prep

On Thursday, we were blessed with glorious sunshine for our summer Open Morning. Pupils from Years 9 and 10 greeted and gave tours to prospective families, showing them the exceptional facilities and sharing a day in the life at Cranmore. Thank you to the pupils who performed musical pieces for our guests and to the CPA members who gave their time to welcome visitors.

Clubs and sports fixtures are back in full swing and Year 4 had a fantastic three-day visit to New Barn, Dorset. During this warm spell of weather which we are having, please do remember to pack school bags accordingly and remind your children of the importance of water bottles, sunhats and sun cream.

Our new House Captains were announced in assembly and have been proudly wearing their badges. I look forward to seeing the impact they have in leading their Houses. I am also excited to hear all of the suggestions that our School Councillors have come up with since we last met.

Good luck to all those involved in tomorrow’s cricket matches.

Year 2 News

Year 2 had a fantastic time outside, exploring volume through hands-on fun with millilitres and litres. With the sun shining and spirits high, everyone engaged in playful water-based experiments, gaining practical experience with volume while having lots of fun.

Reception Trip to Forest School

Reception had a fantastic time during their first Forest School session of the new term. The children were full of excitement as they put on their wellies and headed outside to reconnect with nature. Ellie welcomed the class back with a lovely guided tour around the Forest School area, pointing out all the signs of spring.

The children were amazed to see how much had changed since before the Easter break; lots of flowers had blossomed and leaves were

Cranmore's cricket season is off to a fantastic start! Our U10s took on Parkside last week, while our teams across age groups U9s to U11s showcased their skills in a thrilling block fixture against Rokeby School. Tomorrow, our U10 and U11 cricket teams face Shrewsbury House, and we wish them luck in building on their recent momentum. In tennis, our U9 and U11 teams demonstrated impressive talent and sportsmanship against St Teresa's.

A Message from our Chaplaincy Team

This Week

Reading—Psalm 117

This day was made by the Lord: we rejoice and are glad.

Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, for his love has no end.

Let the sons of Israel say:

‘His love has no end.’

Reflection

The moment of the resurrection changes everything.

As the women go to the tomb, travelling in faith and into the darkness, everything is changed, everything is transformed. Christ is Risen! Alleluia! The God who loves us and made us is always the God of the unexpected moments. This term, let us set out like Mary and travel in faith, let us be open to seeing the resurrected Jesus in unexpected places and people.

The early church of course grew from these resurrection moments of encounter. Faith was passed on from person to person. God reveals himself to humanity moment by moment. As we start a busy term, let us not be afraid and not be daunted for He is alive.

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, through your resurrection you paid the debt of sin and redeemed us into the Father’s arms. You cleared away the darkness of the night by the radiance of your rising light. You broke the bonds of death and rose from the grave. You reconciled Heaven and earth and gave us the hope of eternal life.

Help us to live in the joy of Easter and to carry this joy to others. We pray at this time for the soul of Pope Francis as he makes his final journey into the hands of the Father.

Amen
