Dear Parents I do hope you had a wonderful Christmas break and I wish you and your family every happiness for 2018. This edition has the results from the recent Music exams and I wish to congratulate all these pupils for their marvellous success. We have been holding some internal exams in the senior department this week and I am sure the pupils look forward to resuming their normal timetable. As ever, the calendar shows that we have a busy period this term. Please note the dates of key events such as our 50th Year Anniversary Mass on the 30th January, the Future Schools’ Evening on 13th March, and the CPA Ball on Saturday 17th March. Yours sincerely Michael Connolly
The Junior and Senior Ski Clubs enjoyed their skiing and ringoing at their end of term party, after a very successful term of skiing by all from MP—Form 6.

Welcome back to Bright Stars and Happy New Year to you all! We had a very busy time in our Bright Stars Holiday Fun sessions, with lots of themed activities ranging from a ‘Magical Elves’ day to exploring ice and even having our own Winter Sports event in the Gym. This term we are very pleased to welcome new friends into both Pre-Nursery and Nursery. We hope they will soon feel settled and part of the Cranmore family.

LIBRARY NEWS Parents’ Reading Group Some of you may not know that we have a parents’ reading group which meets 2 or 3 times a term. We are always keen to meet new members so why not come along and give us a try? We read a very wide variety of books including fiction, non-fiction and biography, and have a lot of fun discussing them. We meet in the mornings over coffee, because afternoon pick-up times vary so much, and it seems to work well. Occasionally we have an evening meeting when we go out for a curry or meet to watch a DVD of a book we have read. Our next meeting is on Monday 15th at 8.30, over tea and coffee in the Senior Library. We have chosen a light-hearted book for the Christmas holidays The Hive by Gill Hornby: The story takes us through one year in the life of an Anglican primary school, deep in the most bourgeois Boden country. First day back, the new headmaster explains that government cuts have kyboshed his plans for a new library, and so the elite St Ambrose Fundraising Committee is born. The calendar commences with a Lunch Ladder: "one person has a lunch, charges £15 a head, and those who attend have a lunch in turn and so on". It's followed by the Lakeside Summer Ball, which happens in December. The Gourmet Gamble. The Car Boot Sale. The Quiz. Who will the queen Bea include in today's group text for post-dropoff jogging, Pilates, Nordic walking? Who will emerge from the playground power struggles as the new top mum? If you are interested, please come along on Monday or email sue.trumble@cranmoreprep.co.uk for more details.
