4 OCTOBER 2021 Message from the Headmaster On Saturday morning the clouds cleared for the start of our Open Day with many families turning up early to have a tour of Cranmore. The grounds, facilities and pupils looked immaculate and the record number of parents were incredibly impressed with our school. Thank you to all the pupils, and staff that helped to make the day such a special event for our guests. I was privileged to attend the Lower Prep Music Assembly to hear some of our wonderfully talented pupils sing and play musical instruments. Parents and pupils were treated to performances on the oboe, piano, recorder and choral displays by the Cranmore Singers and Chamber Choir. On Wednesday evening, we hosted our Senior School Information evening for parents. They had an opportunity to hear about the future development plan including the curriculum, extra-curricular provision, staffing and the details of the new Science and Technology Centre. The planning application for the facility will be summitted before half term and the new building will accommodate a number of state-of-the-art science labs, IT room, DT room, additional classrooms and an exhibition space to enhance the provision for pupils as we move towards GCSE. As you will be aware, the Government has made it a national priority that education should continue as normally as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have set out clear guidance, which we are following, to ensure the benefits in managing infection are weighed against any educational drawbacks. We are continuously reviewing and reinforcing the measures we already have in place to reduce the possibility of transmission, such as our cleaning, hygiene and ventilation procedures. Following advice from Public Health England, received yesterday morning, assemblies will be held online for the remainder of this half term. Sadly, this includes the grandparents’ assembly scheduled for next week. This is as disappointing for us as it will be for our pupils and their families. Our nurses continue to monitor cases in school and should we be required to take additional measures, we will of course keep you informed. Thank you for your continued support.

Mr Everitt

On Thursday, we celebrated Harvest Mass with Father Stephen. Thank you on behalf of LeatherHEAD START for your wonderful generosity in supporting the homeless at this time. Thank you also to Year 3 for their beautiful Harvest artwork.
