Autumn Term

8th February 2021 8th October 2021

Message from Mrs Conrad It was a real joy to celebrate our Harvest Festivals with parents in school today. The girls sang beautifully, read clearly and delivered some thought provoking sketches, poetry soundscapes and prayers that reminded us how blessed we are to be able to eat such a range of delicious foods. We also celebrated the wonderful gift of creation and gave thanks for our beautiful world alongside thinking of ways that we can be stewards of the earth and protect our planet for future generations. As part of these discussions, the girls have been learning about the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26, which is taking place in Glasgow between 31st October and 12th November. They have shown a real interest and passion for this subject and, as a result, we are taking part in CAFOD’s ‘Eyes of the World’ campaign next week which is an initiative for children and young people to make it clear to world leaders that the eyes of the world are on them as they make decisions at COP26 that will affect our global family. Look out next week for our social media campaign and links to an online petition that you and your family may like to take part in. I would also like to thank you for your very generous donations to Dorking Foodbank. We will be sending these off to this very worthwhile charity next week.
