Christmas Celebration Invitation Monday 11th December All are welcome to attend our informal Christmas Celebration, where the choirs and music ensembles will be performing a variety of festive pieces. on Monday 11th December at 5.30pm in the School Chapel Festive refreshments will be served afterwards.

Message for Year 6 Parents If you wish to accept the place for your daughter to join the Senior School in September 2024, please return your completed Form of Acceptance to Mrs Charles as soon as possible but no later than Monday 4th December 2023 in order to guarantee the place.

Times Tables Rock Stars This week, the whole school have been involved in the TTRS competition, England Rocks. Fingers have been flying across the keyboard and iPads have been lit up as the girls have competed to be the class and individual with the highest number of points. The class with the highest score was Mrs Gibson's Maths group. Individual winners were Anna P , Sophia D and Olivia P. Congratulations to these girls and well done to all those who contributed. Keep Rocking!

Christmas Card Competition This year we have entered the annual CISC Christmas card competition. The theme is ’King of Kings’. Here are a sample of some of this year’s wonderful designs. Well done and good luck girls.

COMPETITION . COMPETITION . COMPETITION. COMPETITION Art & Photography Competition The Rotary Young Photographer and Young Artist are well -established and successful annual competitions promoted

by Rotary International in Great Britain.

Last Year we were extremely proud to have a runner up and a national winner from the Prep School and we hope to be successful again this year!

Entries are submitted in age groups for fairness.

Art Competition— ‘Rebuilding’ The competition aims to encourage young people to be creative and develop skills in using traditional, contemporary or digital media.

The girls should submit a 2-dimensional, up to a maximum size of A2, unframed, piece of artwork based upon the theme, ‘Rebuilding’, with a sentence to explain the relationship to the theme.

The judges will be looking for technical merit, content and composition, and imagination and style.

They welcome artwork in any medium: For example – pen & ink, paint, collage, printmaking or digital formats.

Plagiarised or 'close-copied' images are not permitted.

At all stages of the competition, competitors will receive a certificate of participation and there are prizes for the winners of the age groups for the National Final.

Photography Competition— ‘Rebuilding’ The competition aims to encourage young people to experiment with photography, use digital and/or traditional methods of photography, demonstrate interpretation of the topic and express personal ideas through the medium of photography.

The girls should produce one photograph based upon the theme, ‘Rebuilding’ with a sentence to explain the relationship to the theme. Mobile Phones or cameras may be used. The photograph must be submitted via Digital Format and be at least 1500 pixel in size on the longest length. The entries and supporting information sent electronically must not exceed 15Mb per email sent.

The judges will be looking for technical merit, content and composition, and imagination and style Plagiarised or 'close-copied' images are not permitted.

Molly W for her excellent effort in Maths this week. Molly applied her knowledge to a new method and worked very hard when solving problems.

Well done Molly.

Hollie G for her enthusiasm across all areas of the curriculum. Hollie was engaged in her learning during our English debate on trade in the Bronze Age and wrote a fantastic letter to the neighbouring tribe asking them to trade with her!

Monica H for her excellent ideas when writing an informal letter this week. Monica thought of interesting ways to ask her neighbouring tribe to trade with her, including detailed descriptions and questions.

Florence D for a fabulous peaceful letter to the Fowey tribe, including all the skills they could offer, explaining what an expert weaver and metal worker are and for using legible cursive hand writing this week. Well done Florence.

Eloise K for brilliant work on column addition and subtraction on two numbers across 10 using exchange including great presentation throughout. Well done Eloise!

Abby V R this week, you have demonstrated some great map work skills by identifying the various European countries from which England was invaded following the departure of the Romans.

Daisy B what fantastic knowledge of area you have demonstrated this week. From understanding what area is, to finding the area of various 2D shapes and towards the end of the week, comparing areas.

Monument Mayhem Visit Many of our Year 3 parents visited to see the children's Monument Mayhem projects. It was amazing how varied the projects were and how many ideas the girls had come up with. It was also a lovely opportunity for the parents to see the Year 3 classrooms.

Odd Socks This week we marked Odd Socks Day, organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance and part of Anti-Bullying Week. We wore odd socks to celebrate our differences and make a noise against bullying!

Eco & Gardening Club This week, the girls planted the pots using winter bedding plants outside the Year 4 chalets. They planted Skimmia, Pansies and Ivy, amongst others. Each pot looks amazing and the girls were brilliant at spacing out and gently removing each plant from its pot. Well done, girls.

Sports News Netball—On Friday, the U8A&B Netball teams had a match against Manor House. The girls played really well and Isabelle C managed to score a goal. We had several attempts at shooting and the final score was1-0. Fantastic!

U11 Netball Tournament @ Claremont. On Saturday, the U11 Netball team played a Bee Netball tournament at Claremont. The team played really well throughout the tournament, with some great phases of play and goals being scored. Well done to Pascale for her hat -trick and Lily, Lainey, Matilda and Tara for being awarded players of the match.

Netball vs Manor House. On Tuesday, the U10A Netball team played against Manor House. The team have been working on their sprinting into space and passing ahead, which they put in to practice in this match. There were some great linking of passes on display. Final score was 7-4 to St Teresa’s. Congratulations to Sophia for being awarded player of the match.

Well done to the U10B netball team who played Manor House on Tuesday. The girls defence was incredible! Miss Roberts was very proud of their performance. Keep it up! The player of the match was Apollonia—well deserved.

The U10C netball team played at home against Manor House School. The girls demonstrated a great knowledge of the positions of netball throughout their game.

They ensured that they effectively defended their players to put Manor House under pressure when they were in possession, scoring 5 goals during the game. Well done to all the girls that took part and a special shout out to Matilda G who was named player of the match.

Ski Success Well done to Apollonia, who took third place at the Surrey Schools Ski Championship at the weekend in the Primary Senior category for Years 5 and 6.

She also came in second place with a mixed schools team with her team members being from a variety of schools across Surrey.

We are very proud of you!

Interhouse Hockey Year 4 all took part in interhouse hockey on Friday. The girls had a great time and enjoyed putting all their hockey skills together to compete against other houses. Well done to St Benedict for winning!

Hockey on Saturday U10 UKSA—Well done to the U10A hockey team who took part in the UKSA tournament. The competition was tough, but the girls were in high spirits and worked hard throughout.

Christmas Preparation The music room is full of Christmas cheer already! We are practising for our Christmas Carol Service on 7th December and for our guest appearance at the Christmas Market on Friday 1st December. The girls are invited to sing in the Mairlot Hall at 4.15 and we would love a supportive audience!

Cello Lessons Ms Barnes, our fantastic cello teacher, has space for new pupils. We also have cellos to hire.

We hope that you have had a good week.

Tango arrived safely on Tuesday and has spent his time settling back in to our routine. We are very happy to have him back, but we are now on the look out for a new loan home for him. There is no rush as we want to find the right home for him, but if anyone wants to enquire then please contact the office.

As the weather has been very unpredictable in recent weeks, please can you make sure your child comes dressed appropriately to their lessons. Please pack a jumper and waterproof coat. Hoodies should not be worn, and if they are we will ask to tuck the hoods in before being around the horses.

We are aware of some school trips and sporting events over the next week or so. If your child cannot attend one of their lessons, then please let the office know by phone or by email, or the lesson can be cancelled on the booking site. As if you wish to cancel a lesson, we do require 48hrs notice or more in order to offer credit.
