WELCOME
For over 70 years, the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) has been rockin’ the construction world with its merit shop philosophy, championing fair and open competition as the foundation of everything we do. Why? Because it pushes us to be the best of the best, daring ABC contractors to up their game in productivity, quality, safety, and value for building owners.
And what better way to showcase our dedication to these principles than through our stellar Excellence in Construction Awards (EIC). The EIC Awards are all about celebrating the jaw-dropping projects brought to life by ABC Western Michigan chapter members and their amazing craft professionals. They shine a spotlight on top-notch quality and innovation in merit shop construction, raising public awareness of the incredible work our members do to shape the communities where we live, work, learn, and play.
This year, we’re proud to have nearly 90 projects entered, proving just how tough and sought-after these awards are!
But wait, there’s more! In addition to the fantastic project entries, ABC Western Michigan will present two Safety Awards of Excellence to one trade contractor and one general contractor. With safety being a top priority, we’re ecstatic to celebrate the achievements of member companies that go the extra mile to keep their teams safe.
2023 also marks the eighth year we’ve honored our amazing tradespeople with the Craft Professional of the Year award. These hardworking men and women are the heartbeat of the construction industry, leaving their mark on the communities they serve. We’re thrilled to recognize their exceptional skills and accomplishments!
Of course, the EIC Awards wouldn’t happen without our fabulous 50+ volunteers who work tirelessly year-round to make this event a reality. A huge shoutout to the industry leaders serving on the Excellence in Construction Awards committee, judging project entries, evaluating Safety Award of Excellence applicants, and selecting the Craft Professional of the Year. You rock!
The prestige of these awards is only possible because ABC Western Michigan members fully embrace fair and open competition. We’re honored to spotlight the best of the best—those who continue to raise the bar in the construction industry.
Get ready for the 2023 Excellence in Construction Awards on September 21, 2023, at GLC Live at 20 Monroe! Join us for a night of celebration, camaraderie, and appreciation as we toast to the people, projects, and safety performance that make West Michigan commercial construction truly outstanding. Mark your calendars, and we’ll see you there!
