What is AquaDry?

A PFC-free (fluorocarbon free) & plant based (at least 50%) water-repellent finish, that allows rain and water based stains to simply run off.
What is H2OShield?
Water-repellents keep clothes drier longer, making them lighter, warmer and much more comfortable. H2OShield bonds the molecules of the water-repellent to the surface of the garment and is totally PFC-free. The finish contains a minimum of 50% plant-based ingredients from a variety sources.

Our insect repellent & odour elimination treatment is built into our fabric and offers outstanding defence against biting insects. The plant-based treatment lasts the lifetime of the garment. This garment contains a biocide with insect repellent properties. Active: Eucalyptus citriodora oil, hydrated, cyclized.
The NosiLife range offers an adventure-ready line of kit that has been designed to offer an effective defence against biting insects.
Craghoppers’ unrivalled insect repellent technology is proven to defend against bites from insects like mosquitos. It is known that insects such as mosquitos can carry life-threatening illnesses such as malaria, dengue fever and zika virus.

How does it work?
The new NosiLife technology contains an active ingredient that repels insects, so they do not dwell or land on the fabric, reducing the possibility of being bitten.
The additional odour elimination technology captures and neutralises body odours during wear so the garment stays fresher for longer. Both technologies are derived from a plant-based source.
The active ingredients are applied using our unique application process designed specifically to ensure the treatment lasts the lifetime of the garment.
The active ingredient
Eucalyptus Citriodora Oil is the active repellent ingredient in NosiLife clothing.
The active ingredient is approved by the European Biocides Product Regulation (BPR) 528/2012/EU. The supply chain works back to the farmers ensuring the availability and sustainability of the active. For example, insisting on only plant-based pesticides and fertilizers are used in the cultivation of Eucalyptus tree stock.
The technology is currently ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) level 1 certified and working towards level 3 approval.
The system is plant-based, and waste treatment solution can go directly to the water treatment plant of the textile mill before re-use or discharge.
Independently tested
We have rigorously tested the insect repellent and odour elimination effects using third-party specialist entomology facilities and analytical companies.
All insect repellency test methods are based on World Health Organisation recommendations, and all testing facilities follow GLP - good laboratory practices protocols.

After care
The NosiLife treatment remains effective for the lifetime of the garment. For best performance always follow the wash care instructions. We always recommend not to wash anything over 30 degrees.

Plant-based insect repellent
An effective repellent for biting insects. Using a sustainable plant-based fabric treatment derived from lemon eucalyptus oil. The NosiBotanical treatment remains effective for up to 30 washes. This garment contains a biocide with insect repellent properties. Active: Eucalyptus citriodora oil, hydrated, cyclized.
What is it effective against?
The technology is an effective repellent against ticks, the fabric is tested by an independent 3rd party testing facility. Due to the insects nature it is essential to cover any exposed skin with insect repellent clothing or lotion and ensure that the ends of trouser are tucked into NosiLife socks and all other openings are securely closed.
Whilst NosiBotanical does reduce the chance of being bitten, you still have to ensure that all uncovered skin is treated with an insect repellent lotion or spray.
What is NosiBotanical?
NosiBotanical is a plant-based fabric treatment derived from lemon eucalyptus oil, taken from Eucalyptus citriodora trees, which effectively defends against biting insects. Taken from the leaves and twigs of the tree, allowing the tree to continue to grow. NosiBotanical also offers odour elimination properties to keep you feeling fresh on the move.
How long does it last?
The NosiBotanical treatment remains effective for up to 30 washes.

This fabric has an Ultraviolet Protection Factor of UPF 30-50+, designed to shield skin covered by the fabric & reduce exposure to harmful UVA & UVB rays, letting you get out there to enjoy the sun safely.
Sun exposure causes skin damage. Only covered areas are shielded. The UPF rating of the fabric may be reduced with use or if stretched or wet. We recommend using several types of sun guard & even with protection avoid being in the sun during the hottest part of the day and/or for long periods of time.
What is SolarShield?
SolarShield is Craghoppers’ range of sun protective fabric tested for UV-protection UPF 30-50+.
Sun-protection is given by a combination of 3 things, the density of the fabric construction, the type of yarns used and its colour.

Engineered yarns and a special UV-reflective compound work together to minimize sun exposure. Plus, the fabric’s advanced moisture-wicking technology keeps you cool and dry, making it perfect for all your adventures.
Our SolarShield+ fabric has been lab tested against the European standard for sun protection BS EN 137581 and our research has been independently accredited by the British Skin Foundation.

By working with specialists we have developed a unique SolarShield+ fabric with sun protection built in that won’t wash out.
This custom designed fabric incorporates engineered yarns that have proven to increase UV protection, when tested using BS EN 13758-1:2002 the rating increases by 66% compared to regular yarn.
Working in tandem with a special compound to encourage reflection and scattering of UV rays as they hit the surface of the fabric, the specially engineered yarn shape increases surface area & coverage. Together reducing direct UV exposure and achieving high UV resistance.

As well as improving UV resistance, the unique yarn shape draws moisture from the surface and facilitates rapid evaporation, resulting in better moisture-wicking and quick-drying performance.

Innovative high loft insulation
Specially constructed high loft insulation gives comparable warmth to natural down but is also lightweight and quick drying.

What Is ThermoPro?
A new insulation technology that represents a viable synthetic alternative to natural down. The innovative ThermoPro filling uses specially constructed fibres to simulate down construction, delivering comparable heat retention properties.
Lightweight, high loft, and quick-drying for effortless efficiency in cold and wet conditions.
ThermoPro is a hollowfibre loose fill designed to mimic the performance of down. Filling the garment with loose fill rather than sheet adds flexibility & packability and the added loft creates more air pockets for a more thermally efficient insulation.
Made from 100% recycled polyester, synthetic fills have the advantage over down in that they can cope much better with wet conditions and maintain some insulation even when fully saturated. They are much easier to dry and also to launder when needed.

What is ThermoAir+
An advanced thermally efficient technology that delivers impressive insulation thanks to the padding’s specially engineered, high-loft construction. ThermoAir+ fibres are designed to trap body heat, locking it in at the core and providing reliable protection in cold conditions.
Our ThermoAir+ uses sheets of hollowfibre which traps air to create warmth. The sheets are also layered which traps extra air providing even more insulation, this layering offers more efficient insulation compared to a standard wadding of the same weight. Made from 100% recycled polyester, synthetic fills have the advantage in that they can cope much better with wet conditions and maintain some insulation even when fully saturated. They are much easier to dry and also to launder when needed.

BLOOM® Materials give back to the environment by reducing water pollution, making them restorative and renewable. The creation of BLOOM® Materials results in the removal of over-abundant and harmful algae from our water resulting in cleaner and oxygenated water being restored to the environment.

Full-grain leather uppers offer protection and comfort as well as durability against the elements
Craghoppers NewHide leather uses an innovative tanning process which uses less water and energy. Traditional leather tanning uses a huge amount of water, this new process uses less energy and saves 57%* of the water the traditional process would use.
Craghoppers work with the Leather Working Group (LWG) to ensure that the tanneries which provide the leather used in our products work to social and environmental best practices. We are pleased to say our collections are now sourced from 100% LWG certified tanneries.

Made with pollution
At Craghoppers, we are serious about innovation that reduces our impact on the planet. Working with industry experts, LanzaTech, we have created CO2Renu, a technology that transforms carbon emissions into fabric. CO2Renu uses 100% polyester, which includes (up to) 30% of fibres made from capturing carbon emissions before they are emitted into the atmosphere.

How does it work?
The process reshapes carbon waste by using carbon emissions as the starting point to create some of Craghoppers recycled polyester blends. CO2Renu technology is an innovative way of recycling carbon emissions from industry, that would otherwise be emitted as CO2, whilst helping reduce the carbon footprint of the fabric.
