The Design & Crafts Council of Ireland's Year of Craft 2011 Report. Year of Craft 2011, coordinated by the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCoI), was a year that firmly established the importance of Ireland’s craft and design sector in the public
consciousness. While the economic environment remained extremely challenging during
2011, those working in craft and design demonstrated determination, resourcefulness
and entrepreneurial spirit. Craft makers showcased Ireland’s creative talent in many
imaginative ways, from acclaimed exhibitions and innovative pop-up shops to worldclass
conferences and talks.
