ASPIRUS HEALTH THIRD STREET CLINIC - WAUSAU, WI

SCOPE: Provided architectural and interior design for design & construction of new 36,000 sq ft community clinic

The Third Street Clinic was designed as a replacement for an existing facility and as a brand flagship for a new model of clinical care for Aspirus. The First Floor services include a Lab, Imaging Suite and Walk-in clinic. Second and Third Floors are dedicated to clinical services and staff amenity spaces.

The Second Floor clinical space contains 2 collaborative hub work areas for 11 providers, with views of all Exam room entry doors. Each Exam room facilitates eye-toeye interaction between the care team and patient. Procedure Rooms are shared between the 2 pods.

Interior design inspiration came from the surrounding Wausau region, with a focus on locally sourced and natural materials. Rich wood tones are balanced with neutrals and blues, creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for patients and staff alike. Interior spaces are generously daylit.

A sustainability focus is woven through the entire design, from the use of long lifespan materials to an innovative geothermal heating and cooling system. The site also graciously accommodates a new bike/pedestrian path, knitting it into downtown Wausau’s urban landscape.
