Like many who begin their journeys into Web3, our team wasn't quite sure where to begin. We sat down with the Founder & CEO of CQ to learn about some tips and tricks she found helpful as she moved into this new space.

Q: There are so many areas within Web3. What do you recommend to someone wanting to learn about allthethings?

COINQUEENS: HOW IT ALL STARTED CoinQueens began as a complimentary Web3 onboarding program to our team's institutional crypto investment fund, CoinKings.

What emerged was a successful Web3 adoption model to introduce the power of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency to leaders across the globe.

HRD: I think it's important to take stock of what your goals are. Are you looking to find new ways to innovate creatively? Are you trying to find a deeper and more effective way to engage with your fans or consumer?

Are you interested in creating new revenue streams for your current brand? Web3 offers new solutions to problems all brands and businesses currently face.

Identify those problems, and you can find new solutions with Web3.

Q: How much time do you need to invest in learning?

HRD: If you take my above advice and clarify your "why", then the path to understanding and utilizing will be much shorter. Rather than take a shotgun approach and try and learn all there is, joining a community of mentors and leaders like CoinQueens can help direct you to the tools and resources you need now.

Q: After plugging in to the right community of experts and mentors, what do you recommend as the next step?

HRD: Get your hands dirty. If you're going to understand your user's experience, you must first become the user. If you haven't ever set up a crypto wallet, purchased crypto, bought an NFT, or joined a community, you or whoever is going to lead the charge on your team is going to want that experience. These fundamentals will shape how your business moves from a standard marketing funnel to a marketing orbit, aligning incentives to activate and engage on the deepest level; taking your consumer from a faceless number to a personal connection.

Q: What's the biggest impact you have seen in Web3 for a brand or business?

HRD: Hands down the biggest impact I have witnessed was the NFT collection CoinQueens created for Kids Beating Cancer. A typical problem every fundraising season was: How do we raise more money?

How do we motivate our donors to give more? I booked a lunch meeting with our founder and pitched an NFT collection for sale during an event auction. We didn't need another wine

basket or gift basket for donors to buy just to re-gift. We needed something new and engaging. NFTs were the answer. Not only would donors have the chance to win their first digital collectible, but they would also win an opportunity to meet with CoinQueens to set up their crypto wallet and receive a Web3 101 lesson.

The collection was such a success at our Hats & Roses Fashion Show, we repeated it for our 30th Anniversary Hats & Heroes Gala where we raised $1.6M to fund the cure for pediatric cancer.

Q: What do you think is the biggest challenge professional women will face trying to master these new tech tools and resources?

HRD: One of our CoinQueens team, Nadia, said it best recently on a Twitter Space when she said, "Web3

has more solutions than problems."

With such a nascent technology, it is easy to get lost in dreamland on all of the possibilities and lose focus on what will positively affect a business.

Surrounding yourself with a network of experienced builders and founders in Web3 is critical to understanding how to implement crypto payments for eCommerce, offer NFTs to incentivize fans and consumers, or streamline processes utilizing blockchain.

WHAT IS THE METAVERSE, AND WHY SHOULD YOU CARE?

In recent years, there has been a lot of talk about the "Metaverse." But what is the Metaverse? Simply put, the Metaverse is a new virtual reality. It is a 3D online world that allows users to interact with each other and with digital objects in a way that feels real. It's not just for gamers anymore. The Metaverse is being used for everything from education to business to social networking.

Think about it: we already spend a large chunk of our lives online. We work online; we shop online; we socialize online. So, it's not really that much of a stretch to imagine a world in which we do everything else online as well. In fact, with the way technology is evolving, it's not hard to imagine a future in which the metaverse is the primary way we interact with the world.

WHY I BELIEVE GENERATIVE ART IS A GOOD INVESTMENT

BY NATALIE ZUMINO In general, fine art appreciates in value over time; what we’ve seen with generative art is that the ROI window is much shorter than a “traditional” investment in the stock market or fund, which targets a 1015% annual return, and is also less volatile than many PFP (profile picture) projects.

Take Fidenza, for example: the mint price almost a year and a half ago was around 0.17 ETH. Shortly after mint, sale prices on the secondary market (where NFTs are listed for sale post-mint) were around 0.5 ETH, a 2x immediate return. As of November 15, the floor price was 97 ETH; that’s over a 565x ROI (if you held it) in a year and a half time.

If we take a lesser known Art Blocks collection, Fontana by Harvey Rayner (patterndotco), the mint price on October 5 was ~0.49 ETH. Taking Fontana #304 as an example, three hours after it was minted, it sold for 1.35 ETH; a 1.75x return (in 3 hours!). As of November 15, the floor price was 3.9 ETH; roughly a 7x ROI in just over a month.

While this sounds great, it does take time, effort, and due diligence to seek out artists, collections, and pieces that not only resonate with you, but that you have early access to. Remember DYOR (do your own research) and, at the end of the day, if it the price goes to zero, the value it holds is beyond monetary when you love the art that you have collected.
