The Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP) is for prospective South African Analytical Chemistry students who meet the minimum admission requirements, but may fall short on the admission point score (APS) for the mainstream programme.

The ECP is an extended programme within regular diploma qualification offered over four years. It is designed to equip students with the necessary competencies to be successful in their studies.

The key role of ECP is therefore to support underprepared, educationally disadvantaged students for success. It integrates additional academic support and skills development with mainstream courses to prepare students for the successful completion of the Diploma in Analytical Chemistry. Academic support is provided using a toolbox of innovative teaching and learning practices.
