19 January 2022 Faculty of Business and Management Sciences Academic Exclusions for AY2022 Dear Students Welcome to Academic Year 2022. We wish you well for your studies in 2022 and beyond. This letter pertains to academic exclusions for students in the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences. According to the CPUT General Handbook: Academic and Student Rules and Regulations (14: 2020): 2.12.2 All students excluded from a programme have to appeal for the academic exclusion to be put aside, in order for them to be re-admitted, via the Faculty Appeals/ Admissions Committee within the prescribed appeal timelines. 2.12.3 An appeal against academic exclusion should include a clear and concise description of the circumstances involved that led to the exclusion. It should also include a motivation for re-admission that will clearly allow the relevant Committee to assess whether a student will succeed in the studies if s/he is re-admitted. Evidence of circumstances that led to poor performance should be provided. Students who might be academically excluded from continuing with studies for 2022, are requested to please check their CPUT mails for communication in this regard or to contact their respective departments for information on academic exclusions. This process needs to be concluded before the final registration date for returning students. All students affected by academic exclusions must, therefore, please respond urgently.

Kind regards,

Prof PE Green DEAN: FACULTY OF BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES
