Attendance allowance (AA) is the main disability benefit for people who have reached pension age. Getting an award of AA can significantly increase income and so it is a crucial benefit for older people. This course will give you an understanding of the main rules and help you to identify people who may be entitled. AA will eventually devolve to Scotland and become pension age disability payment. This course will keep you up to date with any developments on this.

The course covers:

■ Who is entitled to AA

■ How to claim

■ Some knock-on effects of getting an award of AA

The course is aimed at advisers and support workers with little or no experience of AA.

Level - Introductory

Tutor - Alison Gillies

Time - 10am – 1pm
