Welcome to our 14th Annual

Tip the Scale BULL SALE

It is truly an honor and a privilege to be able to share our passion with you today. The Vikse Family farm was established in 1902 by my Great grandfather and is proud of its 6 generations. Tracee’s family farm is located a mile and a half away and was established in 1906. I wonder what our forefathers would say with all these little cowboys and cowgirls running around. To be able to raise our family on the farm and share it with them and now our grandchildren is a real blessing. I’ve had the opportunity to judge many shows last year and to pass on our passion with many youth along the way. The places our cattle have taken us and the friendships we’ve made we will always be very humble and grateful.

We are very fortunate to be able to raise crops, cattle and children on our farm. We take pride in it, and invite you to come and celebrate with us and live it with us on February 18th! If you’re unable to attend the sale and would like to use our “SIGHT UNSEEN PURCHASE PLAN” we would be really happy to work with you. Give me a call so I can get a good idea of your program and your needs. We take this program very seriously and handle it with the utmost sincerity and integrity. We feel we can offer you a truly excellent product at a fair price and we will stand behind it 100%. Bulls can get injured and things can happen but we have the numbers to help you out. It doesn’t matter if you bought a bull from us or not we’re happy to help. There is no doubt it was a challenging fall with all the rain, but with rain it always gives us new hope, promises of grass and crops to feed our families. Remember to be thankful, kind and compassionate to each other. Leaders of our countries your words are very strong so choose them wisely. Take the time in life to say hi to others you never know the impact you can have on them. Be the best you can be for yourself and others.

SEE YOU AT THE SALE

The most consistent bull I think we’ve ever used is Louber Mike 813B. Mike will passed on his natural muscle definition that carries deep into his twist, leaves that amazing hair trait and leaves such easy temperament in his son’s and daughters. “Tip the Scale Vikse Calculated 64B Black Angus Sons

EPD EXPLANATION EPD’s are predictions on how each bull rates against his own contemporary group and the rest of the breed. EPD’s evaluate group averages and offspring’s performance, however they cannot predict individual performance or weights. For example, if Bull A (WW EPD of +10) & Bull B (WW of +60) were randomly mated with 10 similar cows, we would expect the group avg. weaning weight of Bull A’s offspring to be 50 lbs. lighter than Bull B’s (60 - 10 = 50). BW

Birth Weight - expressed in pounds, is a prediction of a sire’s ability to transmit birth weight to his progeny.

Weaning Weight - expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit weaning growth to his progeny.

Yearling Weight - expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit yearling growth to his progeny.

Milk

A predictor of a sire’s genetic merit for milk and mothering ability as expressed in his daughters.

Konrad Farms is a family operated farm by Kyle, Nicole and Ella-Grace Konrad. We are very excited to purchase a farm near where Nicole grew up. Living near family was a dream of hers and now we only live 2 miles away! Ella-Grace will have so much fun helping out Grandma and Grandpa Vikse. We believe that working as a family is the best way to run a business. Our current focus is on purebred Simmentals. We are excited to jump into the cattle industry with this breed and see where God leads

us. Our first addition of Simmental cows came out of the Rainalta Dispersal Dec. 2016 where we ended up buying 5 powerful bred cows. This summer of 2017 a once in a life time opportunity arose to purchase 17 cow/calf pairs and walking rights of our herdsire, Erixon War Paint 42D! We would like to thank Darren Vancuren at Sunberry Valley Ranch who gave us this amazing opportunity to get into the breed. We feel we have started building a strong foundation out of this cow base so far and are very excited for what’s to come! We look forward to meeting and working with new people in this breed and hope to see you soon! BLESSINGS,!
