“POWER UP YOUR PASTURE” BULL SALE HOSTED BY FLEMING STOCK FARMS & RJ LIVESTOCK We are a family Seedstock operation located at Granum, AB; Fleming Stock Farms – Duncan, Cecilie & Cooper, along with RJ Livestock - Ricki, Justin, Scarlett and Zane Pittman. We are thankful to have Ricki, Justin & Cooper as working partners and successors in our operation. Duncan’s dad, Jack Fleming at 93 is no longer active in the day-to-day activities, but is still very interested in the success of the operation. We are proud to be Seedstock Producers for 5 generations!! The Fleming Stock Farms and RJ Livestock bulls are being developed at Duncan & Cecilie’s place ¾ miles west of the Granum junction of Highways #2 & #519. We encourage and welcome you to stop by any time prior to the sale to preview the bulls. We appreciate your interest in our 2022 Bull Sale offering and thank you for taking the time to view our catalog. Our sale is Friday, April 1, 2022 at Foothills Auctioneers in Stavely, AB at 1:30 PM. We will have DLMS on site to broadcast the sale and take your online bids if you are unable to attend the sale in person. Our yearling bulls on offer consist of yearling; Black Angus, Red Simmentals, Black Simmentals and Charolais. There is great diversity in our customer’s cow herds and having the 3 breeds, allows our customers a choice for their crossbreeding programs. The hybrid vigor of a crossbreeding program is very valuable to the Commercial Cattle Industry. We are your, “One Stop Bull Shop”. Our vision is to provide honest, hardworking cattle that get out and utilize whatever pasture conditions are put before them. Our cows thrive on hard grass in the summer months; rustle through stubble grazing in the fall and they winter on hay and silage. No excessive pampering – our cows earn their keep. Our calves are born with lots of vigor to get up and nurse. All the bulls on offer were born unassisted. All our calves are hand weighed and processed within 24 hours of birth, no guessing, no estimating! We value natural performance; we don’t creep feed. The calf’s performance on grass is the results of their genetics and their mother’s milk. EPD’s are available and are one of the many tools in the sire selection toolbox. EPD’s must be used with knowledge, along with your other sire selection criteria that fits your cow/calf operation. We value; good milking mothers, free moving, structurally sound cattle with longevity and docility built in their genetics. In our bulls we focus on length, width, testicle development, tightness of sheath and overall shape for ease of calving. We strive to provide long lasting, sound functional bulls that meet the needs of our valued customers. We are feeding our bulls so their performance will peak in your pasture not in the feed pen. We all know that fat sells - but in excess, fat comes at a cost to the longevity, structural soundness and potential fertility loss when cattle are pushed to their limits. Our bulls are being developed to be in good breeding condition with lots of natural muscle. The bulls receive free choice silage daily, as well as free access to the high-quality mineral content of OLS Mineral tubs. The bulls are hand feed a prepared grain ration daily, which helps with ease of handling and domestication. All bulls will be scrotal measured, semen tested and will have passed a breeding soundness evaluation by Dr. Pat Burrage of the Lethbridge Animal Clinic just prior to the sale. All bulls are fully guaranteed. Our operation is VBP+ Certified and our entire herd is on the Boehringer herd health program. All the bulls are Express Verified and will have been vaccinated to protect their testicles from infection of the BVD virus. All bulls will have received Express FP prior to the sale.

On February 22, 2022, in the peak of calving, our life long friends Lane and Amanda Bellew and family of Milk River, lost their calving barn and all content to a fire. Over the past few years, Lane has granted us the opportunity to put our embryos in his cows to help us expand our herd. For that partnership we are truly grateful. THE BELLEW FAMILY

All the proceeds are going to Lane and family to help towards replacing their barn and the calving barn contents. The lucky name to be drawn out at the end of the sale will take home the heifer. TERMS AND CONDITIONS TERMS OF SALE: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The release of livestock will be given until satisfactory settlement has been made. We reserve the right to withhold animals from shipment for which payments have not been received prior to departure time.

BIDS: Every animal entering the sale ring will be sold to the highest bidder. DISPUTES: In case of disputes, bidding will be opened between the parties

involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision is such matters will be final.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Errors discovered in the catalog will be corrected by

announcement from the Auction Stand at sale time and such corrections will take precedence over printed material in the catalog.

PURCHASER’S RISK & BULL INSURANCE: Ownership risk to the

purchaser commences when the Auctioneer’s gavel falls. Livestock coverage will be available at the clerk’s desk from our appointed representative on Sale Day.

BREEDING GUARANTEE: We guarantee to provide you with a sound

breeding bull, capable of passing a breeding soundness evaluation performed by a licensed veterinarian. In the event of any unlikely dispute, the regular terms and conditions that are standard with the Canadian Angus, Canadian Simmental and Canadian Charolais Associations shall apply. Customer satisfaction is paramount to us.

FERTILITY: All bulls will pass a complete breeding soundness evaluation, including a semen test prior to the sale. All bulls will meet or exceed breed standards.

SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS & DELIVERY OF BULLS: Purchasers are

requested to leave shipping instructions when making settlement. Delivery assistance will be given to shipping after the sale, but no risk will be assumed by Foothills Auctioneers Inc. or the sellers. We will strive to deliver the bulls to your corral or to central points when necessary. Delivery will commence midApril unless prior arrangements have been made with the seller.

POST SALE BULL DEVELOPMENT: Bulls returning to Fleming’s will be

housed at the buyer’s risk. We strongly recommend that all bulls returning to Fleming’s be insured. The Sellers will not be responsible for any type of injury while in the seller’s care. Therefore, the purchase of mortality insurance is strongly recommended.

CERTIFICATES OF REGISTRY: A certificate of registry will be duly

transferred to the buyer by the breeder for each bull after complete and full payment has been made.

CATTLE INSPECTION & IDENTIFICATION: CCIA tags will be in all bulls The tag number will be the lot number in the catalogue. All bulls will be available for inspection prior to the sale.
